  1. Thanks for your reply. It is on the instructions (nfo) of some downloaded folders.
  2. Hello, I cannot burn at 2x speed. The slower that I can burn in both drives is 4x. Also I cannot search the forum for the term "2x" as the search function doesn't accept so short words, therefore I posted here.
  3. OK just a quick update: this drive was in my work PC. I removed it and installed it in my home PC, and replaced it with a Benq 1640, which I had home (as a burning drive I prefer a plextor at home). So now after the swap I noticed a huge difference, today I tested 3 images (size about 4.3 GB each) all successfully burned. Not only this but the verification progress' speed with the SonyAccCORE was between 2x and 3x now it was 12x or more. All 3 burns with me browsing, visiting blogs etc, Azureus running seeding 6 huge files and Internet Download Manager downloading some smaller files. I tend to believe that DVD drives behave differently between different PCs, for example I had some defect burns with Benq at home and none with plextor, so I used only plextor for burning (AMD PC).
  4. Thanks for replies. I already flushed the my drive with the new firmware. I constantly defrag my drives with perfect disk. When you say stop virus scans you mean "on demand" scan or disable the antivirus protection during burning? Also do I have to exit Azureus, which uses I/O, as well as Internet Download Manager, browsing with firefox etc ?
  5. My DVD drive (if I remove the cable) is as follows: I guess its SATA, so I already have the latest firmware. Thanks for this. I am attaching my full log in case someone want to help/go though. ImgBurn..log
  6. Hi Cynthia, I burned at max speed just for provide the reply soonest possible. Usually I set the burning speed around 8-12x. I will try to update the firmware of my burner tomorrow (if it is PATA which I hope to find out), as I am home now and the sony burner in subject is on my work PC
  7. Thanks for replying, here is my log, please note that I think the problem occurred near to the end of the disk this time. I hope its the disks' problem and nothing else.
  8. Hello, I bought 100 sony DVD-R for the sole purpose to burn .img files with imgburn. When I finish burning them there is a circle line at the middle of the DVD which clearly shows that there is a burning error (looks approximately like the disk has not been burned around in the middle for 2-3 millimeters). The strange thing is that I post it, in order to see if there is a similar experience, its strange because the jamming on the disk ends at the end of a chapter and so does the beginning (i.e. usually 3 chapters are defective and all others are fine).
  9. Everything is fine boss with Sorry for inconvenience
  10. Thanks for your response. I am using, I am at office now, when I go home I will install new version, will burn again a truecrypt volume and I will revert.
  11. Hello. I am using imgburn almost exclusively to burn to CD and DVD data and various image files. In case of data I use "mode>build" and then choose "switch to device output", in order to burn data directly to disk. TrueCrypt is a "Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Encryption", creating a virtual encrypted disk which can be burned to a cd/dvd. Well this is the only time that imgburn failed to burn correctly, as I burned 3 times the "virtual encrypted disk" and this was unreadable. Then I burned same file with Nero and the result was successful. It is not a big deal but I thought to report it. Additionally one question: when I burn data directly to CD the results are always shown and burned alphabetically. Can I change that?
  12. something is dodgy here , TYG02 discs are -R Cornholio, I must admit that you were so right (admit even after a year ) Yesterday I bought a hundred Tayio Yuden, from the same shop, but slightly more expensive than the previous ones, which were yellow colored. Now the new disks are white and I already succeded burning an img file with WOPC enabled (first try successful in full speed). With the previous yellow TY disks, it was impossible to complete burning with WOPC enabled in full speed, only in 2X. When I was disabling the WOPC, the burning was successful at 8X. However now, with the new disks, I already got the same speeds with WOPC enabled. I will try later on, to burn with the new disks and disable WOPC to see what speeds I can get. I strongly recommend avoiding the previous problematic yellow TY disks. To give another example, I had a yellow TY disk containing 4.3GB video file, which I was trying to copy (for a friend) to a new disk (picture of the new disk is below) and I got a message that there is not enough space and that copy cannot proceed (with two different copying software).
  13. OK but after a series of unsuccessful burn attempts (all of them freeze at about 75%) I had two continuous successful and faster burns only after I disabled WOPC In order to display the Graph Data Using DvdInfoPro, do I have to enable WOPC or I can do it with disabled WOPC as well and then compare both methods? Also I was wondering if there is some kind of incompatibility between my hardware and the WOPC and/or Benq drive. I have hardware raid0 configuration on 2 SEAGATE 160GB each 7200 SATA. The rest: ASUS ASUS K8NE ?DELUXE AMD AMD XP 3200+ 64 Thanks
  14. This is how the disk looks like However I figured it out (finally). Yesterday I spent some time in burning. After destroyed 5 disks (at 75% as always), uninstall Alcohol120 (just in case interferes) roll back to previous (non-beta) version of bios (dated Sept 2005). No success with anything and additionally the max and average speed (according to log): Average Write Rate: 2,791 KB/s (2.0x) - Maximum Write Rate: 5,582 KB/s (4.0x) These are very low numbers although I set max speed. Eventually I installed the QSuite and disabled WOPC. That?s it guys. The write rate immediately reached 8x, the so-familiar success sound played again soon. Now according to log the speed: Average Write Rate: 10,483 KB/s (7.6x) - Maximum Write Rate: 11,155 KB/s (8.1x) I know this was my mistake from the beginning (that I didn?t try the Qsuite) but this thread can be useful to someone someday. WTF is WOPC and does it have a relation with my disks? I copy below the last (successful at last) log. Really thanks for the help guys. 15. To tell you the true, I was ready to ask this. I got these disks about 2 months ago, from the only official Taiyo Yuden reseller in Athens. I used to buy white-color DVDs but last time I got the yellow ones because they were cheaper. I don?t have any on me now, but I will take a pix of the disk when I am at home and I will upload it here. Because I am really curious about this I am going to buy the previous disks soon to test.
  16. I downloaded latest update (dated 23/12) from the link above. Unfortunately I got the same error. Please have a look at my log and the error popup window, to see if you can help me.
  17. Presently I am at the office and I only have a CD-RW here. I did a test to update firmware of the CD-RW, as you indicated and I got an error, that the specified string could not be found. Of course I will try it from home PC in the afternoon, where the Benq1640 is and I will revert.
  18. Please tell me how to update the firmware. The windows XP are fully updated and last weekend I downloaded/updated my BIOS with the latest beta update. I thought that I don?t update the drives ? only the BIOS.
  19. Here is my log. Please note that I set the speed at ?MAX?. Also as I explained if I set the speed at ?2x? it won?t fail. I am not experienced in burning but from the facts I am sure the error related to a possible corrupted file because it always occurs after 75% completion of burning procedure. So it is either hardware incompatibility or software bug. Therefore I bought the Benq 1640 two weeks ago, but the problem continues. Finally I don?t have any problem with Imgburn, I will keep using it; I don?t mind so much about low speeds. I 20:32:06 ImgBurn Version started! 21. Hello. I am using imgburn 1.1 and I am burning DV-Disks That's Tayio yuden 8x, in a drive BenQ 1240. I am burning large .img files (about 4GB full DVD movie), which I got from the web. I have been recently advised to replace old installation of DVDDecrypter by imgburn, and I have read around the web in reviews that my drive (BenQ 1240) is one of the best around and the disks I am using are also top ranked. However if I don?t set the burn speed to 2x, the burning is not successful at least half of the times. I mean that even if I set it to burn speed 4x, half of the times the burning progress stops at 70-80% I am defragging every night my PC (with O&O soft) and also I am cleaning System Registry and Junk Files with Ace Optimizer Utilities. Also the burning of *.wav, *.mp3 and *.avi files to CD or DVD are always successful, even at max speed, as well as the simple copy procedure (two identical disks on the fly). I thought that you may know what could be wrong and direct me accordingly. I guess that it could be the quality of img file I have downloaded (corrupted) but I am not sure; is there any way that I can verify this? Thanks.
