  1. Ok Just re-read the post and im guessing that you have done what i suggested above

Now try this for XP (Not sure for 2000)

First create a system restore point

    Now go to

    Start > Run

Type in regedit and press return

Unless confident be careful editing the system registry!

    Then try the following

    ==========================================================

Re-enable DMA using the Registry Editor

Run REGEDIT. Go to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

It has subkeys like 0000, 0001, 0002, etc. Normally 0001 is the primary IDE channel, 0002 the secondary, but other numbers can occur under certain circumstances. You have to go through these subkeys and check the DriverDesc value until you find the proper IDE channel.

Delete MasterIdDataChecksum or SlaveIdDataChecksum, depending on whether the device in question is attached as master or slave, but it can't actually hurt to delete both. Reboot. The drive DMA capabilities will be redetected.

2006-01-19 ? Horst Sch?lke wrote that it is sufficient to empty the content of these values. But you can also delete the values entirely. Windows will automatically recreate them anyway, with new content.

Open Device Manager again and check whether the device is now actually using DMA mode. If so, congratulations, you've made it (at least until the next time Windows disables DMA).

2005-10-24 ? Tom?? Souček wrote, if this doesn't work, check also the dword value MasterDeviceTimingModeAllowed, whose default value is hex 0xFFFFFFFF. If you have a much smaller value, you can try to set it back to its default and reboot for a test.

    ======================================================

In the attached pic, my values are in subkey 0001 and 0002

What Operating System and Service Pack are you running ?

  2. I dont know if you have tried this and i'm presuming you are on XP

    Go to

Start > RIGHT CLICK my Computer > SELECT Properties > Click Hardware > Click Device Manager

    > Open up IDE ATA/ATAPI Contrllers

Double click on Primary and check the Transfer Mode under the Advanced Tab

What does Current Transfer Mode Say ?

If its set to PIO can you change it to DMA ?

Do the same for Secondary controller (depends on where your cd rom is)

  3. Sure you're not just running AnyDVD/DVD43 and it's changing what ImgBurn is trying to verify?

I am running AnyDVD 5.8.2.1, but the thing is it only started happening last night/this morning and i always have AD running...........

Ill upgrade to 5.8.3.1, turn it off and try again and let you know

    Cheers oh great one :)

PS Could future ImgBurns detect AnyDVD or DVD43 and pop a waning up ?

  4. Even Stranger

Every coaster has the same "E 09:57:25 Miscompare at LBA: 280, Offset: 35" failing

Just burnt on the benq1640 using imgburn and nero and presto 100% no coasters !

  6. Just got 6 TY coasters, tried nero and it didnt get to verify as it failed to burn, tried some MCC 03RG20's with the same results

Pioner was running 8.37 f/w so reflashed to both 1.37 and 1.39, still get a verify fail ?

Trying the same spindle pack in my Benq1640 now.

Could my Pioneer 110 be buggered ?

  7. Ah thanks - I have a Messiah 2 chip in my old PS2 and have never had to do any of that.....

It probably came pre-flashed or was flashed by the installer,

The messiah 2 is no longer made or supported i believe ?

The Ghost 2 is run by the old messiah team, you'll find with backups of the newer PS2 games (ie Rugby League 2) that your messiah wont run backups. There is even reports of the newest games having mod chip detection and they wont run on a chipped ps2 even if the chip is turned off!!! To date the only chip that has anti anti mod chip protection and will run these new games is the ghost2.

  8. And to top it all i haven't checked out the rest of the box but i bought em before xmas and havent got the receipt :(:(:(

Would the store / supplier have records of the purchase anyway ? Can't imagine you purchased them from the local K-Mart.

I couldn't locate receipt for my monitor recently when it needed warranty repair, so rang up the store, told them the date I bought it on and the other item purchased at the same time (graphics card) and they went through their receipts for the day and gave me a reprint.

    I hope so

It was SVP so they are pretty good, ill see how it goes

  9. Btw are there only dumb do burn in 1x or something like that (low speed) instead of using the MAX speed?

wich speed should I burn in?

It really depends on your media/drive and f/w

I burn TYG02s at 4 speed generally as i get the best results form my particular set up

I burn MCC03RG20 at 8 speed generally as i get the best results form my particular set up

They will both burn at MAX (12X & 16X) but after many trials i have found the quality scans are not as good.

At the end of the day its just personal choice

  10. Why oh why would an excellent manufacturer like Verbatim start using such a shit Dye in there disks ?

    Its beyond belief!

I think ill burn off a few tests 4x,6x,8x,12x and 16x and post the results !

  11. Correct They are the white pearl

The thing that pisses me off is i didnt order the f*****g things!

    I wanted the Verb TYG's

Oh well, more friggin beer matts :(

    i so hope its only 1 x 25 pack out of the box of 500 :'( :'( :'(

  12. Just opened a Pack of Verb Disks that are printable and CMC Mag Dyes

    :(:(:(:(:(:(

Not Happy, They should have been the Verb (NonPrintables) with TYG Dye

    Not Happy at all.................

And to top it all i haven't checked out the rest of the box but i bought em before xmas and havent got the receipt :(:(:(

  13. PS2 Firmware disc ??

If the PS2 has been Mod Chipped (matrix, DMS4, Ghost2, Crystal)

Then you sometimes need a firmware disk to boot the firmware onto the ModChip before it will work properly

Then you can play Backups and do lots lots more.................

  14. You can crossflash the Asus drive you have to a Pioneer 110

    See this post

    http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=...ASUS+DRW-1608P2

I'd recommend like the post says flashing to either the stock

    Buffalo A10XL 8.37 f/w or TDB patched 8.37 f/w (Youll need DVRFlash2.2)

I have quite a few A10XL's with TDB 8.37 f/w and while I haven't burnt any MCC02RG20 disks as i dont use em, I do burn the MCC03RG20's (16speed disks instead of 8speed) which are excellent quality and give excellent results.
