I've been using ImgBurn for over a year now - Great Program! Love it. I was hoping the experts could help me out with a situation. I built my PC with two Optiarc AD-7170A burners and have successfully burned hundreds of DL discs with them (Verbatim MKM-001-00). One of the 7170's died, so I replaced it with a Lite-On LH-20A1P. The media wrote with no errors, DVDINFO Pro shows everything is fine. ImgBurn verifies okay, but when the disc is played back, it hangs at the layer break. And skips for the rest of the disc. I made three or four coasters, read all the support forums - couldn't find anything wrong - so I trashed the drive and replaced it with an Optiarc AD-7190A. Exact same problem. Everything says the disc is fine - but it's not. The log shows Layer 0 written to the break, but the drive seems to be ignoring the break and writing to the end of the disc anyhow. My one remaining 7170A is still going strong and almost never makes a coaster. It seems odd that I've had the same issue with 2 new drives. Has anyone run into this problem before?...and suggestions or recommendations on a new DL drive?
