  1. It was already loaded in my PC....Windows XP Pro SP3 will all latest updates.
  2. The write speed graph looks like a Nec (Optiarc). The verify (read) speed is never above 6x. Seems to be an issue. Sure it's on 'MAX'? Never had/or have Daemon Tools installed? It's a LG GSA-H55L firmware latest v1.06. Never had Daemon Tools....of course have alot of item loaded on this PC, codecs, including CCCP, Pinnacle, etc. for audio & video editing. Overall it seems fast enough for me...it's an 3Gh Intel P4 with XP SP3 with 4GB RAM...I walk away at Burn and Verify and come back. I'm willing to trade-off a little longer cycle tiem for more reliable burn. I use Verbatim DL Singapore only DVD+R and for SL Verbatim DVD-R....haven't found Singapore made but Taiwan seems OK.
  3. OK...so I tried my "new" process for DVD backup. DVDFabHD Free to HDD Nero Recode to HDD to fit to SL size ImgBrn Build/Write/Verify Burnplot to look at graph My IBG file name came out: enemy_at_the_gates_2009-07-10_4-03_PM_12x.ibg {Very Helpful} However, when I open the IBG file with Burnplot it is too bad that the Volume Identifier is not displayed....is it not in the graph file or does BurnPlot not pull ? Here is my trial test.....what do you think ?
  4. It did not show the name...only date, etc.
  5. I just found..............will this work as setting ? %V %B %T %I %S
  6. Thanks......I'm just wanting to see the volume identifier (title/movie name) when I bring up the plot...the day/time really doesn't help....especially over time. You say there is a way for ImgBurn to output this to thr graph file ?....can you tell me where/how ?...still kinda a Newb. Also, you may want to put a rev # on your download postings....will help when someone takes a quick look to see if they have the latest.
  7. Is there any way to show the disk label ?...is this even in the graph file ?....if not perhaps ImBurn can add ? I ask because I'd like to keep my plots for reference down the road and the IBF name of Burner-Day-Time does not really tell me anything. Obviously, I could rename the file but if this could be included in the display of Media info would be nice.
  8. What is the bottom graph versus the top on my BurnPlot/ImgBurn graph ?
  9. Please translate.....why ? Thx. I'm willing to learn...actually reasonably technical guy....just need a quick guidance of what the plot means. My goal is to look at these plots and say...."Yup or Nope....Burn went well and the disc should be OK for playback, or Coaster and Re-Burn." What are the two graphs themselves ?....what is the 2K, 4K, etc. on right of first graph ? How/Where do I see errors, etc ?
  10. Thanks...found it....downloaded, ran and loaded a IBG. Have no idea what I'm looking at...... I attached PNG output of plot from BurnPlot.....any translation would be appreciated !!! I'm just trying to ID whether my burns went/go well on the disc (Verbatim SL DVD-R or DL DVD+R Singapore) without having to run the full movie in the Home DVD player.
  11. Where can I download BurnPlot ?...I don't see it on the ImgBurn download page. Also, any quick tutorial on how to interpret the graphs ?
  12. Where is the download link for BurnPlot ?...I don't see it in the thread....thx.
  13. Thanks...sometimes the right things are in front of your face to miss. I feel so stupid.
  14. That one can show if the burning is somewhat ok or the graphs are jumping around to much depending on a crap burn. You can attach it to a posting window here. The bad disc I did with Recode.......but you mention graph data....I assume if I use Recode for SL future efforts to disc, then ImgBurn or ImgBurn for DL.....this generates a graph ? If so, how do I read the graphs on the burn at that point and interpret ? Thx.
  15. I don't have a BenQ...I have a LG GSA-H55L burner....thus Nero DriveSpeed I don't think does me any good. I have a SL disc that glicthes on DVD player and ran Verify on it in ImgBurn and it came back OK....I know there is issues. I did have to burn useing Nero Recode because I took a IFO/VOB folder that was just over 4.7GB and put/recoded to SL disc....kept about 95% quality. Anyway, I stated this because unfortunatelty I cannot use ImgBrun all the time when I need to recode down to a SL disc...I'm a newb...perhaps I'm missing a way ? I ask because I imagine Verify works better at burn time so it can compare. Thoughts ?
  16. What is the best software....within ImgBurn (eg. Verify) or other to determine if a movie backup DVD burn is good without having to play on a DVD player the entire movie ? I have Neros' DVDSpeed that has Quality Test and Scan Disc but my Burner is a LG Burner and only BenQ and few others...not LG. I recall some software on a thread within this Forum but can't recall it. I'm trying to keep it simple....burn....test....go. Any help in advance is much appreciated !!!!
  17. How about the "made in singapore" 8X Verbs ?
  18. So, I'm looking at the local Best Buys for more Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL (MKM-001-00 dye)....Made In Singapore......alot of Made In India ones. I found alot of 8X Verbatim DVD+R DL made in Singapore.......is the 8X OK ?
  19. Sweet !!!!! Works....FIRST BURN.......Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL (MKM-001-00 dye)....Rocks !!!! Thanks !!!!
  20. Thanks.....I'll order some Verbatim. Question.....is there any thing better in creating a ISO image of my movie files then burning or all the same ?
  21. Wow...did a read on one of the discs that ImgBurn did that worked in WMP11............. Is this what you mean by bad disc for LB ? Strange that WMP11 will run thru it and ImGBurn sees errors and Sony Player hangs...normal ? I 18:14:05 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 18:14:05 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 18:14:05 Total Physical Memory: 2,096,412 KB - Available: 1,437,664 KB I 18:14:06 Initialising SPTI... I 18:14:06 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 18:14:06 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD
  22. Wow...thanks as author chimming in....really appreciate it !!!! Going back to FRYs tommorow to see if they'll take these discs back and credit me. I'll see if they have the Verbatim DVD+R DL Singapore there. Do you really burn them at 2.4X like the box says ? Your comment on quality for LB holds true even when my PC using WMP11 does not hang on these discs and the Sony Player does ? Also, should I install DVDInfo Pro ? Will it help tell me or show me if these discs are bad or have errors at the LB ? BTW...really like ImgBurn. Soon as I get this all sorted out I'll contribute to the cause. I'm a longtime HTPC user.....many forum member.....think good software should be rewarded/promoted.
  23. Well, last thing (variable) I tried is to set the layer break one item earlier in case there is some issue with little-to-no buffef before the change that perhaps my player is getting hung on...also went down to 2.4X. No luck, PC plays fine now........Sony DVD Player still hangs on LB. Any ideas ? This was done with both ImgBurn "Seemless LB" On & Off....no diff.
  24. My LG DVD Writer is up to date.....only about 3 months old...firmware latest too. I'm going back to FRYs tommorow to return these discs (FRYs Branded GQ but must be vendor Ricoh RICOHJPN-D01-67 per ImgBurn). Anyway, I could see disc quality not allowing a successful burn or bad spots....but since this is hanging on DL change.....literally exact time stamp moment....would the disc quality really cause this type failure ? How do you know Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL is MKM-001-00 dye when looking at box ? Also, any comments on DVD-R DL ? Thanks !!!! Verfied Log........................
