didnt worked

ok so, i decided to format my pc and made a folder with important stuff to a dvd, overal it was around 700 mb, so i burned it, formatted pc but when i check disc it says its only 2mb and only 7 pics and a power point files are in, meaning every folder is missing, you can see from the back of the cd a lot more than 2mb was burned, is there any way i can recover my files?
