Wow, I almost don't believe it, but cleaning it did work. Thought I was going to go crazy trying to figure out how to fix it. I feel stupid, but thanks for the help

I have always used imgburn to burn my backups and such, but I have been having a reoccurring problem for several months. I have a burner in my asus laptop, hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t20l, its an LG from what I find and has no new firmware anywhere on the net. It has worked in the past. I am using brand new DL Verbatim disks and I know it is not the media or the files because I can burn them just fine on another computer. I have tried uninstalling imgburn and reinstalling, uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, making sure all my IDEs are up-to-date and still nothing. Also, I don't have iTunes or Safari and have already seen those posts. I really have no idea what to do and would appreciate any help.
