Thanks Cynthia....Will the FLV format play on a dvd player without the encoding done by DVDFlick?
-
I've been having all successful movie burns lately but I tried to burn 12 .flv clips and as soon as ImgBurn started up it stopped and I got an I/O error. The ImgBurn log said "Failed to check for ImgBurn update!" and then "Close Request Acknowledged 13:24:38 Closing Down". I'm just wondering if a flv compilation is possible with DVDFlick and how to go about it..... Log is attached.

Cynthia....I just noticed in "Settings-I/O" it is set to SPTI

Well, I finally had a successful movie burn while I was asleep last night. Cynthia, I don't think I changed anything in Imgburn except for deleting the filters that Lightning UK suggested. I bought some Verbatim "movie" DVD's but I used a Sony last night. I wanted to make sure it was going to work before using the Verbatim's. I couldn't get the ones made in Singapore...they were made in Tiawan. Thanks again

Thanks Lightning UK....I deleted all the filters except REDBOOK & IMAPI. You said "You are telling it to close - by clicking the red X" but I'm talking about what the log says when I have a bad (unsuccessful) burn.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to burn Movie DVD's with Imgburn with a internal Matshita dvd-ram uj-841s burner in Toshiba laptop. I've had about 8 unsuccessful burns in a row. I get an I/O error. The log says "Close Request Acknowledged". I would like to know what is telling it to close. Here is Filter screenshot...

I've had about 8 unsuccessful movie DVD burns in a row. It seems like that started happening after I installed a ASPI layer. I removed the ASPI layer and bought a lens cleaning disk and that doesn't work. I get the following error message......

Thanks Techman .... I already went to that page and being a dummy, I didn't really understand it. I did notice that it mentioned DVD-RW so thats why I asked the question. To put it another way...(Does Removable Storage have to be enabled to fix my inability to burn DVD's?) And if so, how do I restart the snap in.
-
I still can't burn DVD's . Can anyone tell me if (Services-Removable Storage) is supposed to be disabled? If it is needed, how do I restart the snap in? Thanks

OK Thanks mmalves

I just had a successful burn with a Maxell DVD+RW disk and so again I tried a Sony DVD+R disk and again it was unsuccessful. Heres the ImgBurn log. imgburn.log

Thanks Lightning, That's just the thing. I don't close the program. That is what my log says after a bad burn. About 7 in a row now. I've only been getting about 9% if anything before it quits and I get an I/O error message. What would be telling ImgBurn to close?

I keep having failure burns. Can anyone tell me if this "Close request Acknowledged" report in my Imgburn log is normal or is something telling my burn to shut down? Thanks
-
mmalves, OK I'll try 4X. Yes, I've read everywhere that the Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden dvd's are the best. I don't have any yet. Even though I got the previous error message, I just tried to play a dvd and it played. Now I have to figure out whats up with that message before I try another burn.

After some more reading I decided to try to look at my entrys in admin tools and I came up with this. Can someone tell me what "restart the snapin" means.

Thanks for the reply's guys..... mmalves, I"m impressed that you knew this is a laptop..... My burner is a Matshita dvd-ram uj-841s, Firmware is 1.60. I found firmware ver 1.11 but I guess thats an older version. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to clean the laser with a cleaning disk? Also do you think I should try a faster speed of 2.4x or 4x? I've read that a slower speed is better for a successful burn. I don't see why I was getting mostly successful burns and now about 6 coasters in a row. Thanks again for the help and your trouble.

Thank you mmalves. I was having successful burns most of the time before I installed the ASPI layer. I don't understand why my log says "close request acknowleged" before even getting started. Do you think I should "check" WNASPI32 in my I/O settings instead of "SPTI" since I just installed that with my ASPI install?? It wouldn't help to go to a faster speed than 1 would it?

I just started messing with burning DVD's and using ImgBurn & DVDFlick and had about 80% success. Then I had about 4 failures in a row and a couple of days ago I installed SmartRipper and as soon as I opened it I got message that no ASPI layer was found so I did some research and downloaded that from Adaptec and installed it. My aspichk says that is OK. But now I've had about 5 bad burns in a row with the same error message. It was happening at around 9% completion and now it doesn't even get started. Can anyone tell me what this error message means and what I can do to fix it? I have XP and am using Sony DVD's and burn speed is 1x. Thanks
