  1. Hey all, I took your advice and burned on 4x with this media and it worked (mostly). The important part is the resulting DVD played beautifully in the xbox 360, but I did have a couple of errors and I'm not sure what they mean (I've bolded them in the log below). Can anyone tell me what they mean? I'm more worried about that first one! When I first started the burn, I immediately got an error and then when it went to finalize the disc. Here's the log: I 20:03:02 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 20:03:02 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 20:03:02 Total Physical Memory: 1,048,116 KB - Available: 800,952 KB I 20:03:02 Initialising SPTI... I 20:03:02 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... E 20:03:02 Failed to check for ImgBurn update! I 20:03:04 Found 1 DVD
  2. So I burned the same VIDEO_TS folder in Toast and verification failed at exactly 50% through (do you think this is where it put the layer break?) This disc also does not play in the xbox 360 but it does play in the aforementioned standalone DVD player. I'll try burning at 4x with ImgBurn and see if that works. I just hate wasting all these DL discs...but I guess once you find the optimal formula you can just stick with it right? Thanks for all your help everyone.
  3. I would set Toast to burn at 2.4x because I thought slower speeds were always more reliable (it does give you the option).
  4. The log tells us it's a successful burn, correctly booktyped too, so there's no reason it shouldn't play. Maybe your Xbox 360's drive doesn't like DVD+R DL media, or has worn out to the point that it can't properly read it. Does it play single-layer recordable discs properly? Try this disc on other Xbox 360s if you can. Thanks for the insight. It does play DVD+R DL media burned with the same burner with a different program (Toast) which is why I'm trying to figure out the issue with ImgBurn. Actually, I can't remember if I have tried that after flashing the drive. I will burn the same exact data with the same burner with Toast on the same media and see if that plays (since I have no other xbox 360s to test with). If it plays fine I guess there's a problem with ImgBurn and if it also doesn't play it's probably the burner, right?
  5. I posted this over on cdfreaks before I realized ImgBurn had their own forum. But here goes: I am trying to burn a copy of Transformers with ImgBurn. I ripped it with DVD Fab and then burned it with ImgBurn to a Verbatim DVD+R DL. I followed the FAQ on these boards on how to create movie DVDs from VIDEO_TS folders. The burn went fine, it verified, and it played beautifully in a crappy $20 DVD standalone player but it refuses to play on my xbox 360 (it tells me it's an "unplayable disc" after a couple of minutes of trying to read it). My hardware is an external Samsung se-204s (flashed with TS02 firmware patched by Patch Utility). I believe the patch makes it so my burner (regardless of the program using it) sets the book-type to dvd-rom. I'm trying to figure out why I cannot burn DVD movies with ImgBurn that will play in my xbox 360. Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks!
