  1. Thanks, I am truly an idiot. I actually have 2.4.2.0 but 4got to install it, thought I already was using the latest one, realize now I'm not. Plus I could've sworn I worked with these types of cuesheets b4 with no problems, but maybe I was thinking about my other PC..... Happy Holidaze!
  2. I'm sorry Lightning but I don't understand your reply. Are you saying it is a bug (possibly fixed in a newer version) or are you making some kind of sarcastic reply, insulting me in some way I don't understand, because I said something wrong or offended you?? If I did I strongly apologize, I meant no offense, I was just trying to figure this out.
  3. I'm having problems using IMGBURN 2.4.0.0 on my old Win98SE PC writing out CD-audio with cuesheets and can't figure out what's wrong. Maybe it is just some very stupid configuration setting error on my part but I'm stumped... IMGBURN starts to write then gives an error of: "acmStreamConvertfailed reason - device handle is invalid" At first I thought it was the media I was using since I was trying to use a new (crappy) type so I switched to tried and true Taiyo-Yudens but they fail the exact same way. I even tried varying the writespeeds - same error. Then I thought my old Plextor Premium burner might be dying but I was able to write out non-audio stuff fine with IMGBURN so that's doesn't appear to be it (whew). Then I thought maybe these cuesheets were corrupt in some way, so I loaded them into the write interface of EAC and they worked 100% fine, so there isn't anything fishy there either that I can see. Also there is nothing fancy in the cuesheets, just one straight WAV file with trackmarks. I searched up here for "acmstreamconvertfailed" and found 2 threads but neither of them apply to what I'm doing. Here is an example of one of the cuesheets: FILE "x cd2.wav" WAVE TRACK 01 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 02 AUDIO INDEX 01 09:52:72 TRACK 03 AUDIO INDEX 01 15:23:41 TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 01 26:23:21 TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 01 36:21:00 TRACK 06 AUDIO INDEX 01 39:41:58 TRACK 07 AUDIO INDEX 01 43:26:34 TRACK 08 AUDIO INDEX 01 48:25:54 TRACK 09 AUDIO INDEX 01 59:56:66 TRACK 10 AUDIO INDEX 01 61:32:01 TRACK 11 AUDIO INDEX 01 67:44:60 Here is one of the IMGBURN logs: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 23 December 2008, 01:25:55 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 01:25:07 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started! 4. i'm having vitrually this same problem! came up here as part of my research trying to figure out what is wrong and found this thread i was burning DVDs today with no issues then all of sudden one aborted with an error msg and ever since my Lite-on 20A1H drive will no longer read any official DVD, or burned DVD-R/+R and won't recognize any blank DVD media either - "gives Device not ready (no reference position found)" in IMGBURN after several hours of reading on 'net i am (sadly) concluding that my Lite-On burner is just dying...it still reads CDs but that is about it....very disappointing in that it is only 1 year old any recommendations for new drive models appreciated! i already started reading some reviews but things get so complicated & confusing my head is spinning trying to pick the "best" one basically i need IDE drive, don't care about "lightscribe", need something that writes DVD -R and +R "well" over large # of brands but specifically known to work well with taiwanese verbatims -R/+R (since that is what i usually use), dual layer is nice but not a must-have, would like a drive good at CD DAE both in extracting well on good & bad discs plus decent speed with EAC in accurate mode, has low CPU usage, has ability to be patched for region-free DVD access, works well with EAC & IMGBURN, and i forget what else.....also my motherboard seems to have a limitation which prevented my current burner from going above ultraDMA mode 2, which meant even though it was supposed to support 16x writes i never got much about 8x, so with a new burner i don't even need a 22x screamer since i will never be able to get that fast anyways....
