  1. So, why would it never fail, (so far 25 dvds and counting), burning ISOs? But there is a 80% probability to fail burning files with no ISO. Same dvd media, same speed in both.... Thanks
  2. With both I get the same result. The files burned on to the dvd. With only one of them: "write files/folders to disk" I get errors. So, could you elaborate a bit more... please, even if it gets technical... Thanks

  5. hello: I got plenty of good ISO burns, but when I tried to burn with "write files/folders to disk" it will fail over half the time. I am using Verbatim dvd-r 16x @ 4x Nec 3530a. I thought that it was the dvd media, but they don't fail as ISO. Why would it have problems/difficulties burning regular files and not ISO? What is so different? Thanks
  6. I started looking for Taiyo Yuden, and found Rima.com There I saw TYG02: DVD-R47ZZ100SB 8X Silver Lacquer (Shiny Silver) DVD-R47WPT100SK8 8X White Thermal Printable DVD-R47SPY100SB8 8 Silver Inkjet Printable DVD-R47WPP100SK8 8 White Inkjet Printable Which one should I get? I don't care about surface much since I use a sharpie. Thanks for your opinion and help.
  7. Do you have a NEC-3530a drive? If so, which firmware?
  8. Hi LIGHTNING UK!, I decided to go with the Verbatim DVD-R first, since the plan was to be able to play them on a standalone player (Panasonic S24 which only likes -R ). According to my previous post, in the media link page, the Taiyo Yuden DVD-R that my NEC likes is a 2X. Is that correct? And if so, why can't I find the Verbatims DVD-R in that list? How do I know which brand are the following: MCC00RG200 MCC01RG20 MCC02RG20 MCC03RG20 MCC04RG20 MCC05RG20 MCC06RG20 The package of Verbatim 16X DVD-R AZO that I bought does not have the MCC03RG20 ID on the label. I just know that they are MCC03RG20 because of the log. So how do I pick my next purchase? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the link... I found it 3 days back and tested the 3.01 original, and then changed it for the 104c, and the behavior is the same... Yesterday I found this page: http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Sp...9&PageId=11 there I saw that MCC03RG20 are acceptable, (which I think is the same as the Verbatim dvd-r 16x AZO that I got), yet in this other page on the same site : http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Sp...9&PageId=20 says that Verbatim 16X DVD-R @ 16X are bad... Don't know if they are AZO or what, but since I am having so much trouble... I will have to get another brand a try.
  10. Hi, Thank you Cynthia for making everyone feel welcome... Cynthia: I bought some canned air, managed to burn once, and again failed the second... :-( Also, the firmware I got is, I believe the latest, unless someone tells me otherwise... It's a ND-3530a, NEC. volvofl10: Like I mention in the opening message, I just started burning on this NEC DVD/CD writer. Never burned dvds before... Although it has always been there I never used it before... The brand of DVDs are Verbatim -R 16x AZO... Some work and some won't. So I am wondering if I can do or change something to make it burn successfully each time. Should I open it up and Q-tip it? Thanks
  11. Hello, I am new to the burning DVDs, but I managed to burn 3 while damaging 15. Not a good ratio I have a Dell desktop, XP SP3, and using Verbatim DVD-R. I managed to burn one DVD and finished ok, so I wanted to burn a different DVD, and It just wont work! I even re-booted the PC (just in case), but no luck. Here are the different logs: first 2 good ones... I 10:44:07 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!
