This is not the issue you reported. Your log issue was with window snapping... which I've fixed.

Quite a while ago you said 'this is my last post'.... and yet here you still are with your negative attitude, posting utter nonsense about me not being who I've always been. Do yourself a favour and stay to true to your word.

Fixed were.....? nothing its fixed and hasn't been since windows 10 which is years. You can say you working on it, its all nonsense, just like reporting of wrong windows version and other small bugs, none of that has been fixed.

I know I've said I wont post it again, but I also said, despite  the fact that there is really no support and yes,  you might point someone to a small work around of their issue(s) here and there, but the problems still exists .....no updates for 8 years....crazy.

Despite all of that, I still think imgburn is nice app, in fact my favourite, but my patience its running so thin and when I said ImgBurn Is dead I meant every word...is dead as a software development,  no developer leaves their project untouched for 8 years and argue  "its not dead"

I am well aware that my feedback negative, for reason and you more then welcome to ban me and even delete my account I honestly wont take offence.

    Have a good day

    Thanks

I got a new monitor.  One using a direct HDMI cable instead of a DVI to HDMI bridge.  The issue is still present.  Here are steps to replicate the issue:

    1.) Start a disc burn.
2.) Once the burn starts, lock Windows so you must enter your password to keep using Windows.
    3.) Power off the monitor.
4.) After, say, 1 minute, power back on the monitor.
5.) Log back into Windows with your user password.
6.) What I have is a Log window that minimized itself to the far lower left hand side of the screen.  See attach screen capture video for what I'm seeing.

    ImgBurn Log Window Video

Hm, I can't explain why the video quality is so poor.  It's never done this this way before.  You're probably better off saving the file and viewing it locally for a better chance of seeing what I'm seeing.  Hopefully, it will still express what I'm seeing.  If not, here are some screen captures:

    Minimized Log Window

Opened Log Window From Mimized Window

    Resized Window To Normal Position

    Thanks!

I have reported the exact thing among other issues in earlier 2020-2021  and although supposedly  "Lightning UK" have seen it, but was basically pointing to windows issue and was never fixed, so good luck.

I am really struggling to understand why would the persons who took over this domain keep this alive, I truly don't see a purpose..Imgburn is absolutely undeniably dead so should be this supposedly "Support site" support for what?  its rhetorical question so please don't answer.

  3. Have you try using IsoBuster, wonderful tool.  This thing will see and try to extract files out of discs that are either damaged or when other programs can read them correctly, although its not free, but its worth every penny.

Well, now that the cat is out of the bag  yes, we've had a beta we've been testing for 2 years now

The end of 2021 and still nothing.....💩😀

Not happening... I don't know why I even asked. If "supposedly Lightning UK" can't fix window separation between log and main UI or address the wrong windows version in the log...there is no hope for any update so yes... ImgBurn is dead R.I.P.

    Goodbye

  5. Optical Media is very much still alive, maybe not as popular as it was  few years ago, but it ain't going away for a log time. My son collection of 4K UHD and Blu-ray is close to 2K and as for me I still use DVD's and M-Disc for my work backups even thou I have home server with close to 2 petabytes of storage for mine and my wife's legal work.  I also still love to rip and back up my own movies and I'm sure there is ton of others like me who would appreciate ImgBurn refreshed.

With all honesty, If new version was to be released ( which I highly doubt) Its been to long to hope for that, but i would easily donate min. $500 and up, all he  has to do is make this happen and release new Imgburn.  I make more in a day of work to care about $ so whatever Lightnig UK dealing with now I hope he can bring himself to level of energy and finally do it.

Anyways, I know this is probably mute point, but I said my piece.

  6. Is this for a real, you guys interact as if the update will come soon. I would give $$$$$$ if I see it....this is a truly unreal how one can talk so convincing.

I have probably close to 400 4K UHD videos that are shrinked with BD rebuilder and nothing would work to burn it correctly using UDF 2.50 like ImgBurn and to make it work on my son's PS3.....Dam it whoever you are "Lighting UK" quit saying BS that you working on update🤐

Update ImgBurn and you will see BIG donation and I don't say things unless I mean it

look fellows burning is nothing new to me and i know about disc batches

but consider this   every disc i burn now on DVDfab will run on explorer and and on a player without a problem

every disc i burn on imburn now will not show on explorer the drice light to the burner stays alight in tring to find the start

the disc will play on a normal player but they are either good or with problems to much a hit and miss  some dont even start

the batch cant be bad or defective if it record on DVDfab

so there must be somthing no one has stumbled on as yet

imburn showes it doing its job and no errors yet in the veriforcation there are  , that must be a clue to someong surley

Do yourself a favor and download either trial of PowerISO or UltraISO (PowerISO is superior) it will burn anything you will throw at it, no cheep excuse to blame on media and If you like it purchase it, Its $29 and updated every 2-5 months.

I have Fuji, Verbatim, cheap Ritek and none failed if you use good burning software. ImgBurn used to be superior, but its whey dated lacks all sorts of fixes, I don’t know why anyone would use 8 years dated software.

Sadly, ImgBurn has changed, aged and got worse, due to a simple fact that we are in almost 2021. We went through # of different OS with many major fundamental changes, and using software that was last modified in 2013 in XP era, its not the smart move, no offense to anyone.

On the surface ImgBurn works, but along the way you will waist a few good disks and hit the wall here and there and excuse will be the same.

You think you are smart with your remark...:chair:frankly I didn't expect anyone's response, anyone with slightest commonsense and with just a bit of brain  would figure that I made rhetorical comment. You've got a lot to learn I presume you not the sharpest knife in the drawer:lol:

    Good day

  9. There is no way org. LIGHTNIG UK would let go this far, no freaking way. Even simple bugs as mismatch of windows ID in the log, let alone log and main ImgBurn window separation and he, LIGHTNING UK whomever that is, has no idea how to fix it or giving excuse of leaving thing on the back burner to sit?, you really had me going for a while and made me believe you were actually for real:)

Phhh... You can say all you want, I still stand by my theory, this is fake website with someone else running it and I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows why people will do such thing.

I really want it to donate big chunk of either $ or Euro and I mean 200-300 because I do care, but why, I’m still asking myself.

Man, I’m DDD for even coming back here.

What bugs are you referring to?

I’m pretty sure I’d have fixed anything that was actually a bug at the time it was reported. Of course, me fixing them is very different to me fixing them AND releasing a version that includes those fixes.

The version that I’ve very occasionally worked on over the last 7 years will eventually be released, of course it will, I just have a very bad habit of sitting on things.

I honestly do keep thinking I need to get back to it and get it done. In all honesty, I think I went a year without even having the development environment on my machine. I probably installed it all again and got it to the stage where I can actually compile the code again about a month ago. That’s some serious progress right there! I have a no point said to myself that I’m done with ImgBurn. If I had, this forum wouldn’t be here.

I said in my post above that I wouldn't comment again..although I didn't expect your response and I hope I'm not wrong by saying this…You almost sound like there is still hope for ImgBurn, but once again, thus far all that is, is just a bunch  of words.

I was going to give you a lengthily reason why LIGHTNING UK should keep ImgBurn alive, but I rather say just a few humble words.

Among several multimedia software I own, ImgBurn have always been the burning tool of my chose, there was something very special about this truly swiftly tool that unfortunately I have abandoned few years ago due to lack of updates.

Even things like I posted above when on several of my BenQ4 K monitor, ImgBurn  log is separated from main window, unless I change the resolution which is cheap fix that could have been fixed long time ago, believe it or not, but those things  do matter.

Anyhow, even thou I have been using PowerISO, If ImgBurn reincarnated from death I would not hesitate to switch back and I’m not a cheap person by any stretch of imagination I will be more than happy to donate 100Euro as a token of appreciation, that's how much I still would like ImgBurn to be alive and I'm sure, I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Anyways, I’m truly done dragging this subject.

Thanks for now and let’s see what changes, if anything.

@awkj the creator (lightning UK) hasn't come up with this beta just now, that's the whole point of these past few points. It's that random member that came up with that 'release', hell 2 can play that game. This isn't directed at you emoji6.png

I can knock up 2.6.0.0 on about 5 seconds of I wanted too. Fire up 2.5.8.0, copy the first few lines from the log generated, paste them here in the reply box and change the version number and windows info. Done, a magical non-existing 2.6.0.0 just appeared out of thin air.

While 8 years is indeed a very long time, as long as there's support, a product isn't dead. Now if support were to end too, that would change things a bit, but even then as long as it would still work I wouldn't be looking for replacement software.

I told myself I won’t respond to any more comments as I still stand by want I said ImgBurn is dead......this is my last post.

What you saying its noting new and I believe you've said that in earlier respond to someone else (sorry If that wasn't you).

You talking about support on here and that indicate that ImgBurn is not dead? You are kidding right. If you read my first post I said, this forum seem fake, not like it used to be several years ago, almost as if it’s not run by LIGHTNING UK!,

Support on 7year old software that has bugs and they are  simple  bugs and  he can't fix them? well....that is a good sign of dead....end of story

  12. Once again I don't mean to sound ignorant or rude in any way, but it sounds like bunch of empty words that have been just made up. 7 years....7 very very long years and just now you come up with this 2.5.8.1 beta and 2.5.9.0. by the time is in stable version! ..nahh

On a personal level I think ImgBurn was and still might be the best CD/DVD/BD burning tool, even among high priced shareware that I own, but at this point and you can’t blame anyone for thinking that, nothing will convince any either prior or current ImgBurn user that this once great tool is now pretty much dead and the "supposedly beta" you showing its nothing...I would love to be proven wrong..heck..I would gladly pay again ($20, $50, $100) to see new ImgBurn comeback from grave yard after almost a decade

Anyways I don't want to keep on badgering anyone, so I'm done.

    Thanks

    I 08:52:10 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.1 Beta started!
    I 08:52:10 Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition (10.0, Version 1909, Build 18363)

No disrespect to anyone, but its BS. 7 years later and you on 2.5.8.1 beta ..yah right, how ironic, again am I crazy! I doubt.

  14. When you keep  saying ImgBurn is not dead, yet, no updates since 2013. Its BS, no software developer let the app go without even small improvement for that long and ImgBurn definitely has few bugs, even if they are aesthetic bugs, you don't shove bug under the rug, that could have been fixed years ago.

I still have a ton of DVDs and CDs and I will use optical drives for years to come, in fact I just got 300 Verbatim AZO DVDs and 200 Verbatim CDs and I've been using PowerISO as it does really great job, but I have to admit I still like ImgBurn but  will refuse to use dead software I can't get around the idea that e.g.

1.when launching ImgBurn on windows 10, log window is always separated by a bit from main ImgBurn window on my BenQ 4K monitor and you can't join them don't matter what.

    2. it shows I’m on windows 8 pro and this was promised to be fixed 3 years ago I remember…BS

So! When you say there is nothing to fix…..phhhh, there is always something to improve.

Call me crazy, but I’m thinking that someone else is running this long dead software and forum and pretending to be the org. developer and whomever that is, has no clue how to fix the bugs, because these there is no way, no way even if someone is extremely busy in their personal life’s would leave this for that long…promises...promises, but once again ImgBurn was dead years ago and abandoned by org. owner.

  15. Don't get me wrong I've always liked ImgBurn in fact, few years ago on different occasions I donated good amount of $  and I'm not talking $10 or $20 and I was actually planning on donating on regular basis but for some strange reason I felt already a bit skeptical by the feedback I got from Lightning UK and I don't want to make this a topic, but yes, ImgBurn was my favorite burning software.

Ultimately I end up getting PowerISO several licenses, which is image editing software but It does good job burning as well. I still have ImgBurn in my toolbox, but, once again I see no movement in development so I don't even bother using it.

Anyhow, you right, there are options and I'm sure lightning UK don't mind either way.

    Take care

Just because it hasn't seen an update on a while doesn't mean it's dead

Several years ..that is a very longggggg while, and its considered dead.

4 years ago I purchased Hard Wipe Commercial 100 seats $1600 license for my wife's offices and developer assured me he is working on update which would include few small add-ons and small fixes her and there, nothing big, there is always something you can improve in software....no updates since, that is a dead project.

Developer can tell you all he wants, no updates for months is sign of no interest in further development........period.

Lets meet back in here next years or even 2 years , forum might still exist, but the version of app will be still  the same, let's make a bet

Once again ImgBurn ...R.I.P :D

  18. That's  what puzzling me, this is my movie disk that is heavily scratched and because I like the movie I want it to make a backup. The ISO was made with the latest ImgBurn 2.5.8.0  so I don't know what the 2.4.4.0 doing there

  19. I'm not sure if that's a bug or anything to do with my system, but in the log under Application Identifier it shows  2.4.4.0 but I'm using the latest version of ImgBurn which created the image, not a big deal, disk works as it should but just curious.
