  1. khagaroth - Thanks for the info on the codec problem and the link to the update. LIGHTNING UK! - A quick Google search indicates v1.5.0.50 of l3codecx.ax ships with XP. My brother and I have the same install of XP Pro SP2 and I have version v1.5.0.50 installed so I suspect he does as well. I will verify this and get back to you. Thanks.
  2. Sorry for the delay - the "bad" MP3's were at my brothers house and I just never had the chance to go get them until now. This is a link to one of the MP3's, but, I am afraid you won't be able to duplicate the issue. Download "No Sound.mp3" at Mediafire They won't play in GraphEdit on my brothers machine but play perfectly in GraphEdit on my machine. This is the MP3 as it appears in GraphEdit on my brothers machine where it won't play. This is the MP3 as it appears in GraphEdit on my machine where it will play. It seems the problem is dependent on the MP3 decoder used. You may not be able to duplicate the issue if you use a different decoder on your machine. This isn't really a problem as I can always run the MP3's through GraphEdit before burning but that would be a pain in the ass. If you can make the "all zeros" detection in Imgburn more robust I would certainly appreciate it. In the meantime, I will install the ffdshow Audio Decoder on my brothers machine to verify the cause of the "bad" MP3 issue. Thanks.
  3. Hmmm... OK. Looks like the check doesn't catch this all the time. Not really a problem now that I have run into it once and know to use Graph Edit to check out suspect MP3's. The first time I ran into it, though, was certainly a WTF moment. Thanks.
  4. Has the "all zeros" encoded data check been incorporated yet ? I am using ImgBurn v2.5.5.0. I ran into this over the weekend and it had me chasing my tail for awhile. Burned four coasters while I tried to figure out where the problem was. Finally found out that tracks 7 and 11 played properly on all four burned CD's while the other tracks were nothing but silence. I was trying to burn two CD's of music from the same artist and ripper. All tracks on the second CD play perfectly. If I had tried to burn the second CD first I would have known right away that the problem was with the MP3's of the first album and not a hardware, driver, media, Imgburn, etc... issue. Just curious to know if the check is in ImgBurn v2.5.5.0 as it certainly didn't work for me. Thanks. BTW - The MP3's in question do not play in GraphEdit.
  5. Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to put there. (So people know who to blame.) Thank you.
  6. I just noticed this under "Help". "Help Topic: Your Control Panel (My Controls) Edit Avatar Settings: You can view and manage your personal avatar from here. You may choose an avatar from the board's gallery, link to an offsite image (the image will be resized if it is larger than the dimensions allowed by the board administrator) or upload an image from your computer to use as your avatar." Hmmmm... I have another quick question. How do I change my "Member Title" as shown under "My Information" on my profile ? I will start a new topic if you want me to.
  7. I had uploaded my avatar image for this forum to my free geocities page. Now that geocities has closed I am once again avatar-less. I will look into free web space from my ISP. Why is it that I can simply upload my personal picture but need an IP address for an Avatar ?
  8. Hello, Not sure where else to put this. I would like to add an Avatar to my profile but the only options given are "Enter a URL to an online avatar image" or "enter your Gravatar e-mail address". Can an "Upload image from your computer" option be added to the profile Avatar options ?
  9. @ laserfan I just noticed your question. Sorry for the late reply. You say your burn speeds "are in the range of 2.4x to 8x". What type of media are you talking about ? Blu-ray ? I only have one Blu-ray .ibg file to go by but it appears that most Blu-ray burners are only capable of the speeds you mentioned. I wrote BurnPlot to provide a freeware substitute for the ImgBurn .ibg data plotting function of DVDInfoPro. To allow the two programs to be used interchangeably in the forums I tried to recreate the output of DVDInfoPro as closely as I could. To mimic the DVDInfoPro plots the CD speed scale maximum is set to 50x and the DVD (etc...) speed scale maximum is set to 25x. I suppose a switch could be added that would allow the user to select a non-standard BD media speed scale maximum of 12.5x. I will look at it when I get some time. Could you provide some of your .ibg files so I can use them for testing ? @ LIGHTNING UK! I have not had DVDInfoPro installed since my initial trial expired. Have you noticed any changes to the BD plot scaling used on the latest version ?
  10. Hi ssjkakaroto, Hate to shotgun this, but, I have a few suggestions. The first line of your console output seems to reference the comctl32.dll and/or comctl32.ocx. Check to see that you have these installed. Cynthia found she needed to install the GDIPLUS.DLL when she installed BurnPlot on an earlier verison of Windows. This is a link to her previous post : http://forum.imgburn...indpost&p=99551 Another guess would be the need for the oleaut32.dll. And again, make sure you have comdlg32.dll and/or comdlg32.ocx installed. I can attach the versions of these files used on my system if you need them. Perhaps you could use this to help you find what is missing : http://www.dependencywalker.com/
  11. Hi ssjkakaroto, I am not too familiar with running VB applications under Wine but I am guessing you do not have the VB Runtime libraries installed on your system. http://www.winehq.co...C-APPS-WONT-RUN EDIT : Just wanted to make sure you are running BurnPlot 1.0.1.5 - this is the latest version and does not require the comdlg32.ocx You still need comdlg32.dll to run the program - I think this will be installed with the VB 6.0 runtime library.
  12. Thanks for the link Cynthia. I guess I got caught in the "let's use what LIGHTNING UK! used" frame of mind and never thought to look for something that would be compatible with VB. Looks like Localization Guru should be easy to implement. A lot easier than reinventing the wheel in order to use the DKLang Translation Editor used for ImgBurn translations. I'll let you know when I get it sussed out.
  13. Hi Cynthia, Cur4ious. Is this implemented or not? There is a selection box in the settings as I can see. Ummm... No, not yet. I started to (Added "Tools/Settings/Language" to the UI.) but saw that the DKLang Localization Package LIGHTNING UK! used to add translation ability to ImgBurn was written in Delphi and kind of dropped the ball at that point. I assume that the DKLang Localization Package cannot be used with VB6. This requires me to hand create a source/base language file that can be edited with the DKLang Translation Editor and write a module to parse the translated language file. I still plan to do this but I haven't been able to get my head into it yet. @ LIGHTNING UK! - Is ImgBurn written in Delphi or are you just using the DKLang Translation Editor to allow end users an easy way to translate the UI ?
  14. I had some spare time yesterday and decided to add a bell and/or whistle to the program. Added a pseudo CAD/CAM feel to this version - mouse over the plots and the sector and plot value information will be displayed. No real functional changes so I left the previous version available for download. (Version 1.0.1.5) BurnPlot.exe
  15. Hello, New version of BurnPlot attached. (Version 1.0.1.4) BurnPlot.exe Changes : Horizontal scaling now uses "MB" = 1024^2 Bytes and "GB" = 1024^3 Bytes. (Previous version used "MB" = 1,000,000 Bytes and "GB" = 1,000,000,000 Bytes.) Slight massage of the RPM calculations and changed the RPM vertical scaling to resemble DVDInfoPro. (I think.) @ LIGHTNING UK! - I decided to go cheap and cheerful with the rescaling. As you mentioned, I would need to change the SL DVD scale depending on the "GB" scalor selected and I didn't feel like monkeying around with it. DVDInfoPro apparently uses "GB" = 1024^2*1000 Bytes so the layer break and end of data indicators still won't look the same. @ Gleb Egorych - "ImgBurn 2.5.0.0 tells me how much space is available in bytes" - that's what I meant when I said it tells me I have 4.7GB of space available. (See image below.) I am pretty sure most newbs, like me, look at the number of bytes available and say "Well, the disk said 4.7GB and look I have 4.7GB available" not "Hey, let me divide that by 2^30 and see how many "GB" I have open on this disk". That's why I scaled the plots in Burnplot the way I did - so everything lined up the way most people saw the information in ImgBurn.
  16. @ LordWarlock - I did a little research so now I understand the argument. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte ) Interesting quote from the above Wikipedia article - "A DVD-R can hold 4.7 GB." It looks like it comes down to semantics. You make the distinction between GB and GiB in your post. The horizontal scale on BurnPlot is labeled GB and, as far as I can tell, 1,000,000,000 Bytes / "GB" is technically correct. @ LIGHTNING UK! - We have three different scaling techniques : My way = 1,000,000,000 Bytes / "GB" DVDInfoPro way = 1,048,576,000 / "GB" (1024^2 * 1000) Opti Drive Control (CD Speed) way = 1,073,741,824 Bytes / "GB" ( 2^30 or 1024^3 - The "right" way) I am thinking of giving the user the ability to select the scaling type. Or... would you prefer I just change to the "right" way and be done with it ? @ Gleb Egorych - I am ri**ing a few movies right now. (I guess we don't mention that here.) I will burn them onto a disk tomorrow and take a screen capture to show you what I am talking about.
  17. @ LIGHTNING UK! - I hate to be a newb here but you are confusing me when you say that a 4.7GB SL DVD can only contain 4.37GB. Why does ImgBurn tell me I have 4.7GB of space available when I select files to burn onto a SL DVD ? As shown in the Gleb Egorych ibg file the layer break is at sector 2,004,304 and he is putting 3,612,928 sectors of data onto the DVD. I calculate that the layer break occurs at the 4,104,814,592 Byte point (2,004,304 sectors * 2,048 Bytes/sector) on the DVD and the end of data occurs at the 7,399,276,544 Byte point. (3,612,928 sectors * 2,048 Bytes/sector) This is exactly where they are shown on the BurnPlot plots but not on the DVDInfoPro plots. Only one of these can be correct. If my calculations are wrong let me know what I need to do to correct them.
  18. @ LIGHTNING UK! - Changing the horizontal scaling to use a 1024^2 MB and 1024^3 GB is pretty simple but I seem to be missing some fundamental concept here. I place the layer break (yellow) and end of data (red) indicators at the sectors indicated in the ibg file. If you calculate their Byte value by multiplying the sector by the sector size you see that they fall on the horizontal axis exactly where they should. If I change the horizontal scaling they no longer fall where they should which tends to indicate the horizontal scale is no longer accurate. What am I missing ?
  19. @ Gleb Egorych - As you noted, the horizontal axis on BurnPlot is WYSIWYG - in the case of your example 9GB = 9,000,000,000 Bytes. The ImgBurn .ibg file records the sector at which the data was collected so to make plotting easier I base the horizontal axis on that value. In your example, the horizontal axis contains 4,394,531 divisions or plot points. (9,000,000,000 / 2,048 (Sector size)) The layer break indicator is placed at the 4,104,814,592 Byte point (2,004,304 * 2,048) and the end of data indicator is placed at the 7,399,276,544 Byte point. (3,612,928 * 2,048) Unfortunately, this system breaks down in the case of SL DVD's where the horizontal scale is shown as 4.5GB. When the media capacity sector value exceeds the calculated full scale axis value (4,500,000,000 / 2048 or current data type) then the number of horizontal axis divisions is set to the capacity sector value. @ LIGHTNING UK! - Let me know if this is deemed to be too inaccurate and I will revamp the horizontal scaling.
  20. @ Gleb Egorych - What are you refering to as a "known bug" ? The RPM plots, as LIGHTNING UK! pointed out, or something else ?
  21. Hello, Is this going to be a problem ? As you know, the GDIplus.dll is used to create the .png screen capture images. GDI+ is provided with Windows XP and compatible, but not provided, with every version of Windows beyond Windows 95. If anyone has sample code that creates .png images without using the GDI+ library I could use that to eliminate the issue. Suggestions ?
  22. Hello, OK - I think I have what you want now. New version attached. [Edited - Previous Version Removed, See Current Post For Latest Version] Let me know what you think.
  23. I missed that - they are down in the "digital display".
  24. Hello, Let me verify what everyone wants before I start rearranging things again. It sounds like I should display the information as follows : 1. Drive name. (Should be the full width of the "ImgBurn File Info" frame.) 2. Drive firmware version. 3. Disc label. 4. to 18. All DVDInfoPro information. Since DVDInfoPro does not display them, how did you do without items 1-3 before ?
  25. Hello, Yea, the labels are at the "snap to grid" default spacing. I can adjust to make them line up with the graph lines. I am thinking I can put the drive info ("DEVICE_MAKEMODEL") on the top line and the firmware version on a line below that ("DEVICE_FIRMWAREVERSION") to ensure it is readable. Is there any DVDInfoPro "info" I can eliminate to free up a line so I can add the firmware info ?
