lol, I think this thread is writen in invinsible ink.
I did notice that post, all I was refering to is was the case of you having the VIDEO_TS files and converting them to an ISO file. If you're using DVD Shrink, obviously it's best to simply tell it to output to ISO. If you using Shrink, output to a folder, and then use it or something else to make that ISO file, I'd think the person involved was a nutcase.(!)

my dvd drive wont read or burn dvds (but works on cds)
Don't know if it's the same problem, but I had a Pioneer DVD burner that stopped reading or writing DVDs, and was still able to read and write CDs. This model had 2 lasers, one for the DVD and one for the CD, and the DVD laser burnt out just at the end of a write. Luckily, it was less than a month old, and got it replaced.

If it's a movie and you use shrink, get shrink to output the file in an ISO format.
Or you can use imagtool classic to convert your VIDEO_TS folder to an ISO.
If it's data you're doing, you can try folder2iso.
I'd just like to point out DVD Shrink can also convert the VIDEO_TS folder to a ISO file. You just need to look in the File menu

Surely, if the ISO is already assigned to be burned by ImgBurn, wouldn't clicking on the ISO in the RAR simply extract the ISO to the TEMPDIR and pass it to ImgBurn for burning?
Right as usual, dbminter. Most compression apps will just uncompress temporarily uncompress the file, and pass it to imgburn, deleteting the file when imgburn is done. What I think dansken wanted was for imgburn to read the file like an ISO, uncompressing it on-the-fly.

Do I just uninstall like my second attachment?
Yes, your second attachment is rignt Garfunk. You right-click on the DMA controller and uninstall it. Make sure you delete the DMA controller that your burner is connected to (I don't think deleting the main controller entry will do much). You then need to restart your computer. Windows will redetect your DMA controller and also the drives on it (think of it as a spring clean for Windows

G'Day,
Finally pinned it down. The CD-RW was in unfinalised multi-session format. I accidently left Burnatonce in multisession mode, and so it didn't finalise the disc, and ImgBurn didn't offer to erase it. I also ran up Nero bloatware and created a multisession Data session as a test, and Imgburn also didn't want to automatically prompt to erase the disc. Hope that helps you, dB.

pfeerick, do you have Alcohol installed or have you used it to burn images in the past?

I have used Alcohol 120% in the past, but it's not installed or in use at the current time. The disc in question was written using burnatonce.

I noticed the same problem - a CD-RW not that was burnt, and when I tried to burn another image onto it, it said the disc was too small! I erased the disc manually and imgburn burnt the disc on the second attempt.
I did notice that the Status was "Status: incomplete". The CD-RW was previously an AudioCD, and about to become a data cd.
Sorry for the limited information, but I'm at uni and am late for a hurry for class!

Thought I'd better comment on this thread, as this comment doesn't belong under imgburn -> imgburn bugs -> icons
In regards to the log history, I said that it would be good if it returned to the last folder opened, and the log name defaulted to imgburn.log. On second thoughts, is it possible for it to default to either a) the volume label of the currently open image, or
the filename of the currently open image (minus ext) - whichever option is easier.Rgds,

In regards to the log history, I think that it would be best to "save defaults to last folder + 'ImgBurn.log' name", as otherwise it gets too easy to accidentally overwrite an old log file.

Hi,
Just updated to ImgBurn v1.3.0.0, and the program icons are not showing for assicatated files. I realised that when you compressed the program with pecompact, you also compressed the program icons, and therefore windows can't access the first or second icons. Imgburn v1.2.0.0 as also affected by this problem.
In addition, the history function of the Imgburn v1.3.0.0 log does not appear to be working.

Manually full erased the DVD+RWs again with ImgBurn v1.3.0. and they're now "Formated: Yes". However, the Status of the disc is "Status: Complete" - shouldn't this be "Status: Erased"? Don't know if the version change made any difference, but the discs work now!

I've recently noticed the same problems with DVD+RWs and my PIONEER DVR-110D. The discs have been manually fully erased using ImgBurn 1.2.0.0, and I'm currently in the process of trying the same with 1.3.0.0. However, Imgburn still says that the 'Disc Needs Formatting' and 'Formatted: No (Started)'.
Lighning UK!: This may or may not be a bug - when Imgburn starts doing a full erase aka format of a DVD+RW, and the log reports 'Quick Erase: No', the status bar shows a message like '1% - Erasing Disc ...', counting from 1% to approximately 50% within 20 seconds and then simply says'Erasing Disc'.

The other part of the question is then can you make it so the program remembers where the log file was last manually saved to? i.e. last saved to c:\dvd iso's, so when clicking on File -> Save As..., ImgBurn defaults to saving the log in c:\dvd iso's?

This is my first post to this forum - so please be nice to me...
Would it be possible for ImgBurn to use the name of the ISO file being written when saving the log file upon exiting? Or even saving a log with the same name as the ISO file being written each burn is completed (saved to the default directory set in the option)?
ImgBurn is an excellent program, have used it since before it existed
Don't know how I lived without it...

I'm too lazy to navigate through the menus. Could we have an erase button on the main window which then produces the prompt "quick or full"? I use a -RW/+RW a lot.
Right click on the destination drive drop-down list, and point to Erase Disc -> Quick or Full, depending on your preference...

I'll second that one! One of our dogs gets some good exercise, with the cat chasing the dog! Cats are useful as bed warmers in the cooler weather too! Unfortuantely there are negatives, such as the litter trays, scratches, feeding them, etc.
