When writing files/folders to disc I have to select every file in Video TS, is that normal. It seems that I should be able to select the folder and all of the file would be included. Thanks,

If all you are doing is making DVD movies for your set-top player, then you probably don't need to Verify, because it might play fine even with errors, depending on what/where/how many etc. No one could tell from your original post the context of your question--of course if you are burning important DATA to your DVD then you will want to Verify every time! Thank You

If it don't work in my DVD player

I know this is probably a dumb question, but why verify if you are not using a re-writable disc, if something went wrong I have to through away the DVD anyway.
