I had previously used dvd flick but i had problems with the audio being outta sync and i read that is probably was because of the conversion. So is there anything i can do to fix this?

So I want to burn an .avi movie to dvd but have no idea how. I've tried using this program before but I've had no prior success. Do you have to use a converter to get it to Video_ts? I was unable to find an idiots guide to burning on this site. Can someone please lay out step by step instructions for me? Hopefully I can figure this out thanks much
