So I read a few places http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=411765 that the A110 firmware might be buggy and downgraded to A108. This time it worked fine. The media might still be crap, but at least it didn't turn out a coaster this time around. I'll probably still try to get the Verbatim media in the future anyway. Thanks

First off, I did read the post regarding only using the Verbatim +R DL media and if that's really all this problem is, I can try going to find some. The only media available locally was the Fuji branded RITEK-S04-66, so that's what I've got. At any rate. I tried burning a DL disc, and it was nearly to the end with no hiccups when I got a pop up error message regarding "Invalid Address for Write". I tried hitting retry a few times, but that didn't help, and then hit cancel. It then asked if I wanted to try finalizing the disc, which I did, but it also failed. I noticed it said Focus Servo Error in the log, so I figured that was a mechanical issue. All of the settings were at their defaults as I don't usually mess with any of them and never have problems burning Single Layer discs. The only time the buffer dropped below full was when it switched layers, so I thought it was going pretty well. The burn speed was AWS and hovering around 4X during the write. I haven't tried 2.4X yet since I didn't want to waste another disc for nothing. I'm just curious if this looks obviously like something that a firmware update (I've got the most recent one listed by Dell, but maybe there's another), or any other non-media issue.
