  1. Never seen that media code before. What name/brand of the discs is it? They are just standard TDK DVD's -R, dont think they are anything special.

W 16:45:39 Retry Failed - Reason: Power Calibration Area Error I've tried looking for Firmware update but the only one i could find was not for my hardware and as i was burning one minute and then not the next i doubt it is firmware. I'm running a DELL XPS 1730 if that is of any help and the DVD's I am using are TDK DVD-R. Checked device manager and it believes the burner is working fine (not that I trust the device manager). Hope you can point me in the right direction. Thanx
