i deleted it to try clone cd.

HI guys i have been using imgburn for about the past couple of months, i have burned about 50 dual layer using verbatim without any problems now my imgburn isnt even getting past 2 percent, im sorry i dont have the log file but it needed i can waste another disk and get it for you helpful people, i did phone dell and they of course not being totally upfront but they said it could be my optical drive in my laptop because it is about 2 years old, the problem i have with this is movies and music are burning ok when using ordianry cds and dvds so it i had a problem with my optical drive surely it wouldnt burn anything. anyway i tried clone cd the other day and it worked then it stopped working also so i went back imgburn and the io error i got was failing to write to sectors there was other ones like check condition and sorry guys i cant really remember, but mosts it would try and do it like 20 times then it would stop. as i said i will try it again and post the log if needed. im using a dell inspiron 1720 and im also using verbatim. i hope i have gave enough information but im at my wits end, (perhaps thats a bit much)lol. please help me i dont have enough tea drinkers so i dont need anymore coasters in my house.

I 08:27:40 ImgBurn closed! any help would be great out of 60 i have done in the past couple of months i have had like 10 not work, i think a couple was becasue of the number of programs i was using while burning so the last few i dont run anything when buring. i use verbatim and as i said i done 2 last night that went through ok and then one half an hour before this one. Any help would be great guys. I im using windows vista so should i update firmware and if so do i need to update a certain one. if you could point me in the right direction as its really annoying. seems to always be the same message. except one will go to maybe 80percent then one will go to like 10percent. please guys give me some help. i know my burner isnt the best in the business but i have succesfully did about 40 as i say so i have about 90percent success rate. any help would be gratefuly appreciated.

what speed would you suggest i always though 2.4 was the best speed as i have burned like maybe 40 games with only the odd problem, should i make it 4x

hi there thanks for reply im sure that was the full log, it only went to about 8percent. im going to try anothere one cos i found an extra disk which means i have 2 left so although i have 2 games i want to put to dsik i will risk another one.

HI there guys im just finished throwing 4 dl verbatim disks in the bin. I have burned loads of games so far over the past couple of months and messed up a few times but when i got the hang of it i rarely found myself getting it wrong. I have copied the log file from imgburn just to see if there is anything that anyone can see that is wrong with the settings that i have, i just deleted imgburn and reloaded it again but i dont want to try it again as i only have one disk left at the moment. Any help or advice would be great. My computer doesnt run very fast i have not the best burner so i usually have to close down alot of applications or it wouldnt work when i first started burning back ups but there was nothing at all running on this occasion.
