  1. Just to let you know everything works fine since i upgraded the firmware and installed the latest version of wine
  2. Nope , its not external.Actually, that's the only non-external optical drive on this machine Yeah i have edited my previous post a few minutes before your reply. The "main buffer" is locked at 100%. Just updated it "manually" http://i44.tinypic.com/kevzpe.png ..and tried to update the firmware & failed!. http://i42.tinypic.com/14o7fgn.png ..Seems like i need windows OS or VM.
  3. Oops , excuse me for my mistake .My 2nd external drive is Samsung . The main buffer is locked at 100% The device buffer goes like this : 6% -> (69~70)% -> 100% 6% -> 100% But its really fast. Yes for sure.I just yesterday did a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 . I'll update it when i get the chance and i will post back.Hopefully the installer should work under wine
  4. In winecfg i have set the os value to "Windows XP".No idea if that could be the issue. Ok , check the attached package results.tar.gz
  5. Nah - its samsung. And i never had issues on windows7 x64 , even on DL disks , so the drive is out of question I've set it to ASPI - WNASPI32.DLL because the default configuration(ASAPI - ASAPI.DLL) couldn't detect my dvd dl rw ram drive.
  6. Greetings, I just burned a few DVD+R TDKs using imgburn loaded off wine and for some reason the device buffer is not constant. It jumps from 6% , to 70% , 100% with state change interval about half millisecond. Any ideas why its happening? One thing i should mention is that i had to change the io settings to ASPI from ASAPI otherwise it can't recognize burn:/// path no matter the settings in winecfg. PS : Ah i forgot : Distro Ubuntu 10.4LTS x64 AMD build. Thanks
