Hi tried the device on other laptops etc and get the same error,also tried different usb cables as well.My friend seems to think the usb port on the back feels loose,i think i shall be sending back to seller. REGARDS BUFFY

Hi thanks for reply drive is new only a week old so cables should be ok as i said did a few discs all ok now this has started to happen,also have updated drivers.Have tried the three usb ports and same end result.The internal drive will burn cd type discs but wont recognise any other disc or dvd films,the internal is a hp compaq 6720s by the way.Bought the drive of ebay do you think i should send back as faulty?? Any more infofmation most welcomed. Regards Buffy
