  1. Thank's Blu it seemed a little odd, and wasn't sure with the lack of physical response from the drive. In the report above, the time was from IB automatically doing the format. without going thru the menu and manually formatting. not a big deal, just was puzzled. Anyway... thanks again. Al
  2. Hi Blutach, thanks for the reply. I do understand the format that may be required, the question I guess is that The drive fully indicates that there is no formatting being done. i.e.(solid green light) It is just sitting there in standby mode. while IB thinks it is formatting for a standard time of 13min. Now if I go as mentioned before to Tools > Drive and then choose Erase Disk. then IB starts formatting the disk and the drive definitely shows that the drive is in fact formatting the disk, i.e. (flashing amber light) curious. I guess another question would be. If it is not really being formatted, then it should continue with the write?. these are disks the are being written to on a daily basis and are already fully formatted. thanks, al
  3. Hello, I have a question. I made an iso image and then put in a dvd-rw for verification purposes. Then with IB I activated write mode and IB states that it needs to format the disk, as there were previous info on the disk. No problem I let it do the formating. however, I noticed that there wasn't any formatting going on, my PX-716A's light showed a green standby mode, no flashing amber light indicating that the disk was being formatted. it took a full 13 min to "format" then continued to burn the image to disk, with no issues, as shown in the progress bar for the format which was incrementing upwards. From what I see there should have been a quick format or it should have actually been formatting the disk. so it appears that it really didn't need to format in the first place, but just overwritten the files. P.S. If I use the Tools>Drive>erase disk options. it formats and I get the flashing amber light indicating that it is really formatting. Is there something amiss here?
