Time to close this thread, bought a Plextor 760A everything works now =)

I did this, I just misread it! I read DVD-R DL as DVD-R. So yes the drive is supposed to be able use DVD-R. But it wont, so its properly broken (or really bad media). ImgBurn says in statusbar: (device not ready - tracking servo failure) Time to order a new drive =)

What's wrong with the -R media? Your drive should handle it. It might say so, but it does not support DVD-R =) Thinking about Plextor 760A ^^ Gonna test a few things more first though. Thanks for the reply.

Heya, now been reading quite a few posts about this error(or part of it), not sure exactly what to make of it. I suspect my drive has gone bad... I did buy some TDK media, just to test, but dumb as I am, I didnt check...so bought some DVD-R (DUH!).
