  1. I think WinRAR is one such program. Windows Explorer also uses it while copying or moving files.
  2. They are independent. It's like claiming that a stop light take aways energy from your car since it always seem to slow down at one. He's making a broad association that's not causal. I layer break merely tells the drive head where to look for the next block. It has nothing to to with Mux rates. A point in the video where it changes may be a point to put one but there are even better point to use and ImgBurn is already pretty good at finding such locations.
  3. I'd sure like it if the Write mode supported bit setting for the Book Type of DVD+R and DVD+RW media. I always have to use shut down ImgBurn 2.1.0.0 and switch to Nero to burn to any DVD+R media since it supports bit setting with such drives. By setting the type to DVD-ROM for DVD+R media you can burn DVD+R disks that play fine on 99% of DVD Players that would otherwise not play them. I've noticed that when it reads a DVD+R disk it will actually say what the Book Type the DVD+R media is set to so I know you are aware of what I'm talking about but yet you do not support it while writing to a DVD+R disk. I took the exact same image and media. I burned one with ImgBurn and the other with Nero and when I later put each in the drive it said the Nero one had a DVD-ROM Book Type but the ImgBurn one was DVD+R. I'd like to it if you added support for DVD+R media Book Type bit setting. It's probably not that difficult of an addition and it would make the program usable to burn to DVD+R media as well as with DVD-R media.
  4. L0 is the first layer L1 is the second layer the layer break occurs on the last LBA of L0 or in the example it's at 1810190. As far as a JACKET_P directory goes just copy it like any other directory into the same subdirectory as where the VIDEO_TS directory is located and it will put them both into the image when you select that directory as your source.
  5. Just select the first disk as your source directory in build mode and then switch to write mode after swapping disks. It pretty obvious, isn't it?
  6. I haven't seen it answered anywhere. I'm especially curious what the heck "Avg. Disk Q" means! I bumped the drive one up to 90% to allow it to respond quicker before it gets empty since it's too slow to respond at 50% and it goes down to 2-3% before it can respond but left left the main one alone. I burn a lot of DVDs so I use about 192 MB which is about a 4% buffer or about half a minutes worth of at 4X but I have 2 GB of 128-bit memory and do not have any demanding application running. I'm usually doing e-mail or may downloading some Usenet messages. I don't even do web activity since sometimes you can get a page with heavy graphics usage that really puts a big demand on the browser and slows the machine down. Of course, the priority management is usually enough for it to prevent the browser from interferring but I don't want to bother doing it again if there is a problem.
  7. I think LU stand for Language Units but I have no idea when the appear in ImgBurn but they should only exist in the menu files. You can have several menu on the same DVD and it will switch to the poper set depending on you preferred language setting on the player but it can also be changed by a simple command within any PGC. When it appears in ImgBurn and why is still a mystery to me.
  8. So, what a LU ?? Also, I've already added a layer break while making the ISO but when I try to burn it to as a DVD it still prompts me?? Do I need to do it AGAIN??? Is it safe to check the do not alter box? Why in the heck can't it tell I already did this??? It also seems to give less choices then when I originally made the ISO. Is there a program that can confirm one is in the ISO?? Shouldn't ImgBurn tell me if a layer breal already exists??
  9. I use DVD ReMake Pro instead. SPLIP is appaently a flag than can be used but isn't always supported so it's safeer to choose no but I guess splitting at a .BUP or .IFO which contains no video data is good too?? Right? What LU mean?
  10. So, SPLIP shoould be NO which I only guess since it was rated higher but now I think I know what it mean BUT if a .IFO is available they seem to rated excellent as well yet the SPLIP flag is N/A or something. Am I still OK on a non-seamless player if O use that option. Also, what a LU ???
