Thanks. For what it is worth, I have been using the same media in my Optiarc drive that failed without issue, but it is worth a shot. I'll give Phillips and Verbatim a try. I'll post back with results.

Have been using ImgBurn for a while now and love it. Have used it a lot with internal Optiarc drive, without problems, but that drive is now dead. Purchased a new external (USB) device and first three tries to burn have failed at various points ranging from 47% to 70%. Finally tried limiting speed to 6x as I am using 8x media. It still failed. Only way to close is to CTRL + ALT+DEL. App window closes, but ImgBurn process remains active until i unplug the drive.
