Hi Cynthia. It makes sense that it is the drive, unfortunately the firmware you kindly provided the link to is not compatible with the drive which makes no sense. I think I am stuck with this! Many thanks

This is a new stack of Asda DVD-R 16x discs which I usually have no problems with, however IMGBURN only offers 2x as the available burning speed. My standalone DVD recorder remains happy to burn these at full speed. Any ideas? Many thanks everyone! discinfo.bmp
