Thanks for the reply. I think you have pointed me in the right direction. I have just been reading and it seems that there is something quirky with the JMicron JMB36X controller and it detects my Pioneer 111D as SCSI. I have an ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard. The Pioneer is plugged into the primary IDE on the motherboard and is in CABLE-SELECT mode. I have one SATA HDD. I'll keep investigating...

I am new to ImgBurn and am trying to write some files to a DVD+RW. When I go to write the files, I get a message saying that the disc needs to be formatted. I select 'Yes' to format and then get an 'I/O Error' straight away. I have tried 2 new discs of the same brand. I have written to a CD-RW successfully. The DVD writer is a Pioneer 111D with the latest firmware.
