  1. I have access to many other computers, I will try it out (I did test the disks on other computers while they were already on and the "setup" screen came up). I thought it might have been the disks so I tried different brands and the like. The last was a Sony 4.7GB disk. It boots, but doesn't go far. It gets stuck on the Windows installation screen. For my BIOS, I set it up to IDE to allow instalalation of XP and put Optical Disk Drive as Boot Option #1. I can select the Optical Drive and "load" into it, but the black screen appears. When I try out burned Ubuntu disks, it works fine. All "non-burned" disks work fine as well.

  3. Hello, The original disk is snapped at the center and when I put it into the drive, it rattles and grinds. Since I have had previous mishaps with disks, I always make copies of my things. Is it possible to find previous log files, or must I reburn again to get the same log file?
  4. Hello, Firstly I would like to say that I have read around the internet, including here, for tutorials and help but nothing seems to work for me. Secondly and lastly, I own the disc myself and yes I have a product key. I have tried creating an ISO to burn, but whenever I attempt to boot it up, I get a black screen with a white cursor endlessly blinking. This is how I typically make copies of install discs but mostly how I burn Linux DVDs...however, it doesn't work with WinXP. Next I tried copying the folder contents of my disk and following this guide; http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/11190-how-to-create-a-windows-xp-installation-disc-bootable-using-imgburn/ but this time, I get some really odd issues. Whenver the disk is in the drive, the screen freezes and unfreezes if I open up the drive door. While it is frozen, things are still moving forward though....if that makes sense? I tested the disk on my desktop and when I pop it into the drive, a window pops up asking me if I want to run the XP set up, so I assume I'm doing something right? My BIOS settings (ON MY hp 620): UEFI Mode SATA Mode: IDE (for installation of XP) BOOT (first) from Optical Drive Is it because I need a bootable ima of WinXP Pro 64bit because the disc I have is 64bit? Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thank you. ND~
