Log? partial? imgburn is still...... doing something!!! for the last 4 and a half hours!

How can a disk, a blank disk before using imgburn, have hundreds of errors "incompatible format"? Who - if not imgburn - creates a format on the disc? Does that mean, that imgburn cannot read it's own formats???
