That sucks! MIDs should really be specified by all vendors and sellers... Hope you don't get too much trouble with them. But yes, TDK BD-RE DLs are reliable. After successfully zeroing sectors on all 5 of mine without failures, overwrites are performing perfectly and at full speed. The only problem is sometimes, my Sony BDP-S5100 skips for some reason on certain burns, but once I eject and put it back in, and play the same area, it doesn't happen again... Both times it happened, subtitles were on although I doubt that's it.

Thank you both. LIGHTNING you were right, I'm getting less and less zeroing sectors retries every time I perform a full format. Disc 1 zero-ed with no failures yesterday. dbminter, my Verbatim BD-R SLs are made by CMC! I was hoping I wouldn't hear that. I've had no problem with the 15-20 burned so far, but now I won't be surprised if I do with any of the rest. Cheers!

UPDATE ------------ I did a full erase of Disc 5 and showed only four zeroing sectors errors. No write errors just like Disc 1 and 2. Playing fine now. Same results with Disc 4, but only ONE instance of failed sectors. No write errors. Disc 2 stopped playing at a certain point on my standalone. I skipped a few seconds ahead where it had stopped and the rest played fine. I'm so confused. I thought failed zeroed sectors were ok as long as the write process was successful and without errors. It seems not. Will I get more problems in the future? Every time I wipe the discs, I get less errors. Maybe it's a coincidence. Do these discs/dye need "warming up" or "breaking in" until they work perfectly or something? Should I take advantage of the return policy and exchange the discs that showed errors? Hello, I just started experimenting with blank Blu-Ray media, results not as bad as I expected. I have found no problems with BD-R SL and DL from Verbatim. Burned about 50 successfully so far. I started to try BD-RE yesterday. Results have been different from all 5 discs. Only one performed perfectly. The logs for each are attached. Disc 1 and 2 (zeroing sectors retries, no write errors) played fine on my standalone player. Disc 3 also, as expected since it showed no problems. Disc 4 will not play (Zeroing sectors retries, and writing errors/retries). Disc 5 behaved the same way as Disc 4 so I cancelled halfway. I noticed most errors are around the layer break, no errors at the start or end of the sectors. Does my drive dislike the media? Or is the media simply bad? They're repackaged discs, but seemed to be packaged fine. After Disc 2, I started wiping them very well before putting them in the drive. What can I do with Disc 4 and 5? Simply try again with same settings? If these discs are going to cause problems, should I just ask the seller for an exchange? Surely he has others I can try, hopefully some genuine VERBAT-IM ones.
