I have burned a lot of DVD's in the last 2years. I have gotten successful results until now even with CMC discs. I mostly burn single layer discs. Only a few dual layer. I just burned a CD successfully. The burner is built into my Laptop. I'm not sure if that can be replaced or if I should order and external Burner. I have noticed that new, thinner laptops do not have a DVD drive. When I need a new laptop I will probably need an external DVD burner anyway. I really think a DVD burner should last longer than a year.

I used an AZO DVD-R disc to burn and I still got a Power Calibration Error. Is there a way to adjust the power calibration of the drive? The Computer is only 2 years old. Your link to the Branded AZO non DataLife Plus is what I am looking at. The DataLife Plus 8X I looked at link is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IQ1F8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER. I am going to order the AZO. Thanks Again. I hope these work better. I am very frustrated with Burn failures.

The DVD+R I am using just say Life Series. I also found on Amazon, Verbatim 4.7 GB up to 16x Branded Recordable Disc AZO DVD-R 50-Disc Spindle 95101. I like the higher burn speed. They are also less expensive. These have more customer complaints though. I am going to trust you that DataLife Plus and AZO are both good.

Yes, I bought them at Sams Club because they had the best price. They are just Life Series. I had no idea that there were DataLife Plus and that you could only get them online. I have also bought them at Office Max. This is kind of crummy and misleading for Verbatim. Thank You for the info. I am using an ASUS laptop with a DVD RW drive that is about 2 years old. I have looked online at AMAZON.COM and found Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD-R Discs. I have not used DVD-R but I hear they are more popular and are compatible with my burner and player. There are many choices available. 8X, 16X, White and Silver Printable. I Do not need printable. I am going to order a 50 pack of the DVD-R 8X Silver discs and see how they work. There is a number 94852 that I do not know what it means. There are different numbers for the different kind of discs available.

I am using Verbatim DVD+R discs. I have been told that these are the best. I have not had problems with these in the past. I do not know why Image Burn is identifying these as CMC MAG media.
