I have just tried a new set of blank disc they are verbatim DVD+R. Im still getting the same result. The still dont seem to be registering when I check the log. I have run a disk identifer program and it doesnt seem to pick up the disk either. I have not done anything with the firmware it is still the same as when I got the computer 2 yrs ago from Dell. I was able to burn using magmedia disks before I tried ImgBurn.

I have just started using ImgBurn, and Im having difficulty copying. Here is the DVD burner info NEC ND-6100A which I believe is a RW+. The blank dvds that I have just purchased are TDK DVD+R.
