I consider myself to be an "experienced" computer user, but not an "expert" by any means.

I have encountered and solved hundreds of software and hardware problems, but know that for EACH problem I DO understand, there are at least 10 more I DON'T. In reality, I guess that puts me pretty low on the totem pole. (Oddly enough however, I somehow seem to keep solving problems for friends & family that were botched up by someone else who DOES claim to be an "expert". Scary, huh?) One thing I will never do is tell someone that I know something that I really don't (at least not without telling them when I'm unsure). Please also be forthright with me.

I prepare taxes and compose music for a living. Odd combo, I know - - but composition has not paid me enough money (so far) to meet my needs. Tax prep is seasonal, so it gives me plenty of time to work at my passion. (I'm also a vocalist and musician, but haven't pursued a career at that level since age 30. Playing in clubs loses it's luster, and the likelihood of a female getting signed after 30 is next to nothing. For me anyway, writing music feels like the only magic left in a dog eat dog business.)

I've used computers for both left & right brain work (with audio equipment) for many many years (including some professional radio production), but do not consider myself a professional engineer by a long shot. I use my digital taping equipment for the basics, but employ a studio & a good engineer to finalize most professional projects. I have recently gotten very interested in video production at an amateur level. I just love to create.
