  1. no worries, Thanks dbminter for your time testing and experimenting, it was purely a inquisitive thought, ive got loads of blank dvds lying around, and thought lets see if i can shrink to dvd9 and make them work , i was kinda hopeing the xbox would of been smart enough to go hay the contents are a bluray lets play it, but alas no , yes i usualy do use BD25 discs Thanks again Mike
  2. upon further investigation the error code thrown by the Xbox implies there is problems with some dvd and bluray sometimes throwing up this error message, my next port is to try the dvd in a different bluray player and see what happens
  3. Hi thanks for testing, not sure on the errors your getting ?? , i have used BDrebuilder for years shrinking BD50 to BD25 with no size errors, also my test of shrinking to DVD9 also created an image the correct size ??, ohh i never verify my writes 🤠 😁 , the disc seems to work as intended if inserted into my pc and using VLC you can emulate a bluray player, the menus work and the film plays, noticbly it all seems slower loading the menus which i assume is because dvd has a slower read speed ?? but the movie plays fine //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 - Log ; Thursday, 12 October 2023, 22:10:49 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 21:44:33 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! 4. ok cool, be interested to see if you can figure a way to get it to work
  5. i also came across this post but they are talking about AVCHD Blu Ray file system on DVD-R media ? - VideoHelp Forum im hopeing to keep menus as is per a bluray though
  6. ok we will go on the assumption you already have a decrypted copy of a bluray to hand , i use BDrebuilder BD Rebuilder Beta - Bug Reports Only - Doom9's Forum to shrink, this guide here is very old but i think will do How to copy a Blu-ray disc using BD Rebuilder (dvd-guides.com) for testing purpose under settings, output size, dvd9 , encoder settings Good fastest and 1 pass ( as high quality shrinking will take a fair amount of time, were just interested if its possible for now ) you might need avisynth Avisynth rev. 2 download | SourceForge.net
  7. sure, before i do, should i pm you the instructions or in here ?? as the process can violate copyright laws 😬 and not sure if this forum allows this kind of topic ???
  8. thanks for the reply, yes your correct im trying to shrink a bluray to the size of a dvd9 but keep it as a bluray so yes BDMV, its an xbox series X , i use software to shrink bd50 to burn on a bd25 disc and that works fine, the software also allows it to shrink to dvd9 size, but once burnt to a DVD the player says unable to play this disc
  9. Hi, i tried experimenting of reducing a BD50 to dvd9 size retaining HEVC, i burnt it to a dvd but my hardware player ( xbox ) refuses to play it, im assuming the player is seeing a dvd but the files on the disc are not what it expects ???, is there any settings in imgbur that can trick or force the dvd to think its a bluray ??? Thanks Mike
