    WHEN TO USE SHRINK WITH +R AND WHEN TO USE +R DL

    Is there any general rules when you should use Dvd shrink with 120 min Verb +R and when to just use a Verb DL?

     

    I notice that Imgburn tells you when the file need to be burned on DL but I also notice you can use DVD shrink to fit it on a single layer disk.

     

    In other words, is there a certain file size that I should not risk shrinking and just burn on DL's?

    What kind of DVD player? That they play fine the first time tends to say you have a decent burn, and that it's your player acting up, perhaps when it gets warm.

    One other thing I'd do is speed up your burn a little, at least 4X, and 8X would be better with 16X speed discs. If you want to burn at 2.4X, I'd look for some older slower media, 4 or 8X.

     

    That may be the problem. I have a very old DVD player. I need to get a new one anyway, so I will try to DVD's on a new player. I will also try speeding up the burn a bit.

    All of my dvd's is am burnging play fine the first time but start skipping towards the end when played the second time. I used dvd shrink and Verbatim DVD+R disks. Is there anything I can do about this?

     

    Here is the log to the last burn I did. Like I said, it plays in my DVD player fine the first time then the second time it skips at the end.

    Using dvd shrink instead of dual layer disks

    I had a few movies that ImgBurn said I needed two layers with. I used DVD shrink with to make the ISO files fit on a normal 120 min DVD. The movies were about 160 long. They burned fine but I notice towards the end of the movies they start to skip. Am I able to do this? Is the "compression" the reason for the skipping. Should I just re-burn ising the Verb DL's?

     

    P.S. I am using Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB

    Hi. I am new to burning dvd's. I have burned 3 dvd's with no problem but the last few I have burned start to skip 30 minutes into the movie. I can play these dvd's on my PC just fine but when I put them into my dvd player they get chopped up. I even tested them on a friends dvd player, the same thing. It starts off with little squares flashing and then more squares and then it starts to skip.

     

    Any suggestions. I don't know if you need this but here is the log from my last burn.
