  1. Cynthia & MM, you guys have short memories, I can't post the log: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=9068&hl= My logs aren't logging like they should & I do not know why & yes, it is set for append. BTW, I noticed that these verbatim discs are RITEK-F16-01 discs. So what makes Verbatin so "special" & good? Spinningwheel in my previous thread never answered me why other discs are "crap".
  2. For some reason my log isn't showing details so I took a screen shot of the 1st disc I tried burning. What causes this error?
  3. Nope, it's set to append. I only deleted the old logs to show the most recent burn. And even if it was set to write over the old log, wouldn't it at least the last burned session show up in its entirety & not only log this: ; ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 - Log ; Thursday, 05 February 2009, 19:32:15 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 19:30:18 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 19:30:18 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 19:30:18 Total Physical Memory: 2,094,908 KB - Available: 1,308,128 KB I 19:30:18 Initialising SPTI... I 19:30:18 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 19:30:18 Found 1 DVD
  4. Cynthia, thanks twice telling me where to find the log, but I'm obviously going to the right place if I'm attaching the file. I just now need to know why it's not writing a detailed log so I can get this stuck at 2.4x syndrome out of the way.
  5. Well I clicked verify on the main page & the attached is all I got for a log which is the same as before even though the disc does burn! So what am I doing wrong? imgburn.log
  6. I did burn one! I will turn on verify & post the log tomorrow.
  7. Could you please explain what you define as "crap" is to me? I've been using these "crap" discs" & have made very very few coasters. No disc is perfect, right? From what I've seen, the speeds are slow & that's about it far as I see for "crap" so far. Anyway, I've attached the log of a TDK disc since both the TDK & Memorex have the same format. I can't decipher what it means but right now even my Memorex (RITEK-S04-66) 2.4x to 8x DL discs are stuck at 2.4x. The speed starts to climb as it starts to write & it stops dead at 2.4. Did I inadvertently mess up a setting in imgburn? I am using DVDflick 1.3.0.4 & have Denis's write speed set for 6X because if I set it higher he has a red annoying pop up saying higher speeds will cause write errors. I suggested his next version eliminate that "feature" & let imgburn do the write speed calculating. I did go to tools, write speed & add the discs & burner BTW. Thanks for any assistance in getting me some speedier write times. OH, the burner is a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-851S 1.50 (ATA), in my 2 year old HP DV9225 Vista Ultimate 64 bit 2 GB of RAM, 2 GHZ AMD Turion64x2 CPU notebook & the drive has never ever had a new firmware update from HP. And believe me, I've checked. If there's on out there, I can't find it. And I don't know where in my device manager to go aside from the obvious place (that doesn't have that feature) to change settings like DMA, etc. if that's what's needed. tdk.log
  8. I have tried TDK & now Memorex (both single layer) discs that claim 1-16x yet while I have imgburn set for max, & my burner does burn faster than 2.4x & has in the past with the old CompUSA discs, yet I can only muster 2.x as a max burn speed. The Memorex & TDK discs according to the imgburn main screen are RITEK-F16-01 discs. So what am I doing wrong or is 1-16X bullcrap? Thanks.
  9. Ifcrule, I'm not sensitive & UK, we're cool! As you see I don't post much as I pride myself in being able to figure things out on my own & when I run into a road block, I then come out of lurk mode & post! You don't "know" me & my posting style as I don't "know" you & your style! So now you know, if you see me post I've stumbled & cannot find what I'm looking for or I'm probably not using the correct search parameter or something!
  10. WOW! Didn't think I'd be lamb-basted like that! I've been using your program for a while & the layer break is new to me as I've recently started using DL discs. I thought & searched allot for my own answers before I made the post as I'm still learning. Guess I need to redefine my searching a "tad" more & become instantly smart overnight! There are some things we all can't comprehend & be good at right away!
  11. Hi all, I'm still kinda confused with teh layer break. I do understand the color of the stars, but that's pretty much it! I saw nowhere here, unless I didn't look hard enough, as to what the headings & options in the create layer break position page mean. I did a screen shot this morning of what I typically experience & with so many green stars, I really have no clue as to what one is best, & why. I am not using the Verbatim discs as I do have really good luck with the Memorex discs, RITEK-S04-66 as image burn detects. I am using an HP dv9225 notebook, 2 GB ram, Vista Ultimate 64 bit & the burner is a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-851S 1.50 (ATA) as read from image burn. My questions are: Can someone point me to the thread or page that explains the heading in detail: Can someone tell me by the below screen shot what would be the "best" choice & why: Can someone tell me what the options & ignore options at the bottom of the screen are for: And my last question, why can't image burn detect what's best & select it since it seems pretty "smart" already? Thanks guys.
  12. I'll reply in order: 1st error: I've asked these question in both areas since i do not know where the issues arise from. 2nd error: I always selects the mds file & it doesn't stay selected, remember I wrote that! 3rd error: I never had to select layer break before, so I now do not know why it is asking for it. Then again, this is also teh 1st time I've used DL discs, is that why it's asking me teh question? And what exactly does it mean? The more I know & understand why it does what it does, the less I have to ask 4th error, Again, I deselect eject, yet it does anyway. Then again, why would there be an option to cycle the tray anyway? 5th, thanks. Not sure what you mean by this. What you are saying is set DVD Flick so it does not burn a DVD & have ImgBurn open by itself to make the DVD & all the settings I choose will not be set back to defaults when it closes? Hehe, here's where my noobness will show, what file would I use, the MDS or ISO file in the DVD Flick output directory which would mean selecting create an ISO image, right? Thanks for bearing with me on this. I really have tried to comprehend & understand all I could before I posted asking for help & I appreciate all of you guys support!
  13. Hi all. I'm posting this here as DVD Flick uses ImgBurn, which is where I believe my "issues" stem from. It went from an unattended to an attended program. I've tried to edit some settings in ImgBurn & they don't seem to stay. So what am I doing wrong & what can I do to stop these multiple errors which I've put in order of their popup during a burn process, i.e., 1st to last. The 5th error doesn't happen all the time, but the 1st 4 always come up & you'll notice different times as each error was taken when I came home. That said, I really to like this program & went from making coasters to usable discs, is allot faster than before, but now I have to check up on the status frequently which has become annoying. Any help, tips, tricks to get ImgBurn to "keep" the settings would be great. Thanks. The 1st error: Then the 2nd: The 3rd: The 4th: And finally the 5th:
