Ok thanks. That explains why the second drive/burner couldn't even burn the disc. I have found the discs actually DO work on the computer, just not on the DVD players. I've never had any problems playing backup DVDs before. The only change is that I updated to v2.3.2 which makes me think it's a problem with the settings. Discs verify ok and the data is on the disc. Also used Nero to burn one of the images and no problems there. Same drive, same image, same brand of DVDs. Recognised by both players. As for the FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME error that I'm get on both drives, haven't had any luck using Process Explorer to work out what has a handle on the drive. Any more suggestions?

I've had this problem as well using 2 different types of discs that I've never had problems with before. Also tried 2 different drives. Happened after I upgraded to v2.3.2 from 2.1. Now have a new error msg to do with FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME and the discs verify ok but still can't read them... Having problems since I updated to version 2.3.2 from 2.1. Possibly a problem with the settings?? Have burned 6 discs and none of them are recognised by either of my players or the computer. The BUP, IFO, VOB files are on the disc, but it is not recognised as a dvd. I tried 2 different disc types. Have never had a problem with either brand. All images made by dvd shrink and have never had a problem with it. On 2 of the discs I got the error FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME but clicked on continue. Verify ok.
