put vista on pc and changed location of file to burn burned 2 dl dvds and both burned with success no errors many thanks to all for your help

tried it today in another machine and it works fine i had a pioneer 111 worked fine for a couple of years then out of the blue started getting L-EC Uncorrectable Error and invalid write address so got a pioneer 112 same happened so exchanged it same happened again so got the pioneer 115 and errors again so it carnt be the pioneers any ideas?

i dont have anything running while burning

only burned 3 dl disks from new that worked then after that stopped working with all dl media works fine with normal dvds eg films

when burning dvds r they meant to get fairly warm rolled drivers back still no joy normal dvds fine duel layer dvd wont burn may have to get a new burner or format harddrive and reinstall windows any suggestions? is vista any different or should i stick to xp ?

i am running xp sp2 before i loaded the ide drivers from asus disk in device manager the ide controller had 3 primary controllers 3 secondary controllers and 2 parallel controllers when i deleted them and rebooted they all came back where do i get the standard ms xp sp2 driver from

on the dma 4 there is a box ticked saying let bios select transfer mode is that ok custom built asus a8 deluxe

just loaded ide control drivers and wondered if the drive running ultra dma 4- ultra 66 ok

if i got a lite-on dl dvdrom would i have the same problem ive removed redbook and imapi are safe its on standalone master look in device manager for the controller driver, post chipset and version how do i find this out

will formatting hard drive and reinstalling windows make a difference

i have posted the filter driver order is this ok i only have the 112 on one new 80 wire cable as for the standard ide chipset controller and default xp sp2 driver can u help with this
