Thanks for your quick respond. So I changed the booktype for the NEC. this was succesful. Now to get a clearer picture: does this autimatically change the setting for my plextor? Does my computer read the plextor as a NEC burner?

Hello peeps, I am having some problems changing the book type on my new burner. I am trying to change the booktype to dvd-rom to burn a dvd-dl. It says "Current setting failed". Now with my old liteon this option was available for change. Somebody has some tips? thanks in advance Bas the plextor type PX-800A
