  1. FYI, since fixing the Ultra DMA, I've been burning on the memorex discs with no problem. You'll need to recheck your media in about 6-8 months, odds are you will have corrupted files and a mess on the disc...just a little heads-up about media that normally sux... Done that. Haven't encountered those issues as of yet.

  3. and don't make a very good couple Yes, I realize that's the norm, but I have had success with them, then it mysteriously went away. My question is, would re-enabling Ultra DMA and losing PIO potentially take me back to where I was having success?
  4. So now that I've reestablished DMA mode, do you think I may have better burning success?
  5. Blutach -- that was great, ultra dma is now enabled on the primary channel. The secondary channel was reinstalled. Do you think this might help the burn issues I've been having? As I said, I used to be able to burn my back-ups, even using the memorex media, with very little issue.
  6. I get the same errors with the LG. Also, for some reason I can't figure out, the LG is very slow. On primary IDE channel properties, "DMA if available" is enabled under transfer mode for devices 0 & 1. Under "Current transfer mode,"PIO mode" is the only thing that's available (no ultra DMA). I have "DMA if available" enabled on secondary IDE Channel properties. "Ultra DMA" is not listed in "Current transfer mode." I can't figure out if there's a problem with it. Also, does anyone have any thoughts on the log?
  7. Hi -- Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with my issues... Recently I haven't been able to back up any of my movies using Memorex DL media. Yes, I know it's not the best, but I burned a huge batch of backups successfully with it, but now I can't get any of my burns to work at all. I'm using an LG GSA H42N to read and a NEC ND 3530A to write, and I've updated the firmware for both drives. I'm planning on switching to better media (Verbatim), but I wanted to make sure beforehand that my hardware/drivers/settings aren't contributing to the problem as well. Can anyone gleam anything from this Imgburn log and let me know whether this is simply a media issue, or if I need to adjust somethings with my hardware as well? Again, thanks so much in advance!
