Ok, burned another one with Verify on, and everything went fine. It still won't play in my standalone Panasonic DVD player. However, it plays fine on my pc. I don't have another standalone to try it on. I was under the impression that DVD-R should play on most DVD players(???) Is there a better type of media for that ? Would it be better to burn from a .ISO file rather than all those VOB, IFO, etc files ? Thanks for your patience in answering my noob questions. ( -Eve

Thank you. I updated the firmware as suggested and the burn completed ok ! The problem now is that the disc won't play in my DVD player...it just says... Reading..... Reading.... Reading....... And that's all I get. I am using Verbatim DVD-R 4.7Gb 16x discs. Are my files no good ? I created them using FAVC. This is so frustrating. I bought Verbatim DVD-Rs, my DMA seems to be set right, and have plenty of memory. Slightly different errors were produced this time...any ideas ? I'm trying to do a burn and it writes for a while then fails. This is my first time doing this. I read the FAQ, but didn't see any error like this. Can someone please help ?
