Yeah, you're right, the BK does stand for the black version, as there is also a 112DSV which is a silver color. I also read that the 112DBK doesnt have the capability of writing DVD RAM or Lightscribe. But I dont think that should make a difference in their burning preformance. Anyways, I'm probably gonna have to get another 360. And thanks a lot for your help I really appreciate you taking out time to answer my questions

Yeah, that seems to be the case. I just found out that I have a Pioneer DVR-112DBK, and my friend has a Pioneer DVR-112D. Although we have different versions, does it make a difference? I mean, am I having problems because I have a different version of the 112D?

Hmm, I've read the comments for the Gears of War that I downloaded, and it seems that while some people had problems getting it to work (none of them said that they're having the same problems as me), others got it to work perfectly. And yes, other games also work on my 360. But most of them also give me dirty disk errors, not all at the startup screen though, for example, in Assassins Creed, whenever I try to load up Memory 3, it gives me that error. And I am not able to play the campaign of Halo 3, nor the campaigns of GRAW 2 and Rainbow 6 Vegas. But I will give the firmware update a go.

The problem with the ImgBurn copy that I used was that whenever I got to the screen in Gears of War where it asked me to press the Start button, the 360 immediatly gave me an error saying that the disk is dirty and that it needs to be scratched, when in reality, I'm using a brand new Verbatim disk. Anotehr friend of mine suggested that it might be a problem with my 360, he says that my 360 has a bad laser. I'm not really sure of this yet however.

Ok, so I just got my brand new Pioneer 112d dvd drive today. I got this because I heard it was good for burning 360 games. Anyways, I got Gears of War (Gears_Of_War_READNFO_MULTi2_NTSC_XBOX360-SuperX360), and I wanted to burn that, so I started up CloneCD, selected the .dvd file, set the speed to 1x, and burnt it. I put it in my 360, and when I got to the screen where it asked me to press the Start button, I got an error that said that the disk was dirty and that it needs to be cleaned. The fact is, I burnt it on a brand new Verbatim disk (yes, they're made in Singapore). So I asked one of my other friend for help because he also had a Pioneer 112d drive and was successful in buring his 360 games. He told me to use ImgBurn, manually set the layerbreak, select the .dvd file, set the burn speed to 2.4x, and burn it. So I did that, I was hoping it would work, but unfortunately, it didnt So now I came here hoping someone could help me. And if it makes a difference, I have a Hitachi 360 with iXtreme 1.3 firmware.
