1. Well, I used ImgBurn to create an ISO file and burned that to a disk. I can play that back on my PC without difficulty. Others have suggested I have a PAL vs NTSC issue ...
2. I have been authoring my own DVDs using original footage for several years. I have also used Imgburn for some time. I admit to lacking knowledge related to burning DL disks. In my first attempt at DL authoring, I ran into a little snag. When I was about to create an image file from the files in the VIDEO_TS folder, Imgburn asked me to specify volume label and then the layer break options appeared, showing only a single option for layer break, color coded as average. My question is: How can I author the DVD so I will have more options for layer breaks?
3. I created an image of a data CD (my XP installation disc) using ImgBurn, and then created two more images of the same disc with IsoBuster (one User Data, the other RAW). Both User Data ISO's were exactly the same (ie. 591MB and same MD5), but the RAW image was a fair bit larger (ie. 678MB). Why does ImgBurn create ISO's from User Data instead of RAW, or does it depend on the source disc (ie. sometimes it will use User Data, other times RAW) ?
4. I am fairly sure that it is using MS-DOS. How can you tell? I didn't make the image myself, I used one that ImgBurn created from a disk I had. Can I create my own and just replace all of the files in the image with the ones I need?
5. Just one more thing. When i create ISO (image) on a hard drive with ImgBurn, cyrillics appear normal on image's volume label (i.e. it's name). But if burning files directly to media with ImgBurn, cyrillics turn in to unreadable text on image's volume label in 'My Computer' / 'Explorer' when the disc is in the drive. May be that will give you some idea? Thanks!
6. My burner can't read that disc at all, it says that it uses a format that it's not compatible with Windows when i put the disc inside. My burner is a NEC ND 4550A with the latest firmware (1.09). However the Plextor can read the disc perfectly and i can access it's contents without any problems. Also i tested this disc on another drive (it was probably an unbranded drive, i don't remember for sure) and it was also working fine there. I uninstalled Alcohol more than a year ago. However as i see in the Autoruns i still have the sptd driver. Can this driver cause any conficts? Is it safe to completely delete the entry with Autoruns? Update: Ok it seems that my Plextor doesn't work correctly with imgburn. I tried inserting a lot of different discs, original pc, ps1 & ps2 games, discs copied by others etc. I always get the message that disc is not supported (audio). However the discs that can be read by my burner* (NEC ND-4550A) they work perfectly with imgburn in read mode and i can create the image. * It seems that my burner can only read cd's and not dvd's! Seems like a nasty conflict there. In case you are wondering why i didn't say all this sooner, it's just i use my burner for burning purposes only and my plextor for all the reading purposes. Plus with other programs, (Ashampoo burning studio and/or nero for example) they never complained about the cd/dvd i wanted to create the image. And now i discovered all this i am wondering what is wrong with my drives.
7. Hello all. I have been looking through the forum here looking for some information that might lead me in the right direction but am still lost. I need to make a disk that is bootable but when it boots it would be nice if i could have it prompt me to boot to the Windows Vista install, or to Dell's Diagnostics information. Is this possible? What I would like to do is on the file structure for the disk have two folders, one Vista and one Dell Diags. When the disk is booted to it asks "What would you like to do" and I will have the option of choosing which I would like to do. I dont need to edit either of the boot options. It would actually be nice if both options were like having two separate disk's but without having to carry around both disk's. Vista's install files are around 2.5GB and the Dell Diag disk is only 386MB so it should fit on a DVD just fine. So my problem is that I'm not sure how to create the disk. Do I use the Boot image from my Vista Disk or my Dell Diag disk?
8. If you already have the original discs, just use Read mode to create your image. It'll already be bootable that way without you having to mess around with anything.
9. Hello All - Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out. I am trying to create some ISO images from bootable Windows install DVDs I have. I found where I instruct ImgBurn to 'Make Image Bootable,' but I do not know what extra steps I need to take to ensure the ISO will be bootable when created. Is there an image file I need to point ImgBurn to in order to allow the ISO to function in a bootable fashion? I need to be able to mount the image in a virtual machine so it boots into setup just as if I were to put the OEM bootable DVD in a physical drive upon booting? Thanks a lot, Miles
10. Hi, I want to copy a DVD which was created by a DVD/HD-recorder which sometimes creates multiple titlesets which point to the same data (e.g. "VTS_01_1.VOB" is the same as "VTS_02_1.VOB"). It does that when recordings with different qualities (more exactly different resolutions like full PAL and half PAL) are on the same disk, one TS per resolution. Unfortunately the direct copying by reading in the DVD as ISO file, then burning it doesn't work (other DVD-players read the copy without problems, but the recorder does not). Burning a new Video-DVD with the data of the old one does work (with some restrictions), but of course not with such double- or triple-titlesets which make a normal 4,7 GB DVD look as if it contains 9 or 13 GB. I know that ImgBurn can create such hard-links for data DVDs with identical files, but for Video-DVDs it seems not to work. Any hints what I can do? Thanks! Michael
11. Well I just tried to "read" it, but it keeps giving me this error. "Unable to create or write files" is what it says. Am I doing something wrong?
12. I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC. On downloading the latest ImgBurn, I find that I can't burn directly in the 'build' mode for my VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS folder. I have to create the iso first then burn. In my other version of IMGburn, I could burn direct. Was this feature removed? Also, what's the best option for me to select for standalone DVD compatabolity? Thanks.
13. I have just discovered ImgBurn as the successor to DVDD … (I am very familiar with the latter). In DVDD, to copy a dual-layer original, I would simply read (create an ISO image) and write directly to a dual-layer DVD. In ImgBurn, the Guides now discuss setting the layer break …. surely, an ISO image created from the original dual-layer DVD would have the layer break defined within it, so once again it would just be a case of writing the image … or am I missing something?! Cheers, Mark
14. Hello, This is my first post on these forums. I tried searching around for an answer to my problem, but I was unable to find a solution. I am trying to create a *.iso file from an existing *.ibb file using the ImgBurn command line interface. Sometimes it works very well, and other times I get the following error: Invalid or unsupported image file format! Reason: First image file part is less than 2048 bytes in size. 15. Hi, thank you for a very good software. I would also appreciate to have the possibility to create folders "on the fly", for example, like this in .IBB: [sTART_BACKUP_LIST] C:\SPW\INST\setup.exe ; \Setup\Setup.exe In the .IBB, it is easy to create such a line. In the GUI, this could be done by right-click on previously added file od folder... Please ;-) Kind regards, Karel Rys
16. Hello again, I'm getting towards the point where I'm going to be authoring this DVD. Something is a bit unclear to me though. In the Adobe Encore help, it says: So as you can see in the screenshot I've attached, it's giving me two radio buttons Side One OR Side Two. The help file is telling me I need to create two different projects, one for each side?!? What should I do? I wonder if it's possible to author the whole project as Side One and then use ImgBurn to insert the layer break in order to make two sides?
17. Hi, I would be extreamly greatful if someone can tell me if i can create a iso of a ps1 disk from imgburn, ive read through lots of forums on it and i have gone through the help pages. I am in the read mode of the program but the disk icon at the bottom is grey out and i cant start saving a iso image of the disk. I would be very greatful for help on this please. Many many thanks in advance
18. When trying to create an ISO from a dual layer DVD I get the following error: This happens at exaclty 50% progress. Anybody got any ideas? I also noticed that it looks like its creating the ISO in NTFS format when the disk itself is PAL. Any reason for this or way to change the settings? Any help much appreciated
19. You did not say how you came by the files or how they were created which is why I asked if you had used DVD shrink in custom mode to create ISO
20. why would I use dvd shrink to burn a dvd9 when I have imgburn? he wasn't asking if you going to burn it with shrink, he meant did you create the original iso with shrink, if so , as blu said , it messes up the layer break

from your PM ( all contact goes intot he forums for all to read and help with) your trying to create an ISO file from your dvd disc to your hard drive ? yeah if thats the case, be aware that ImgBurn wont do this with copywrite protected discs otherwise, a glance in the GUIDES forum will sort you out GUIDES forum http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showforum=4
22. I can't seem to get a working copy with layer breaks. I have read all the information about using PGCedit and can successfully create the ISO and it does burn OK with ImgBurn (Latest version). The problem is that the DVD pauses and freezes several times around the layer break position. I have tried several different movies, several different layer break positions and 4 different burning programs. I've tried ImgBurn first, then DVDFab Platinum, CopytoDVD and CloneCD. Every single copy with layer breaks has playback issues. I can burn the exact same movie without layer breaks and it is fine except that there is a very noticable pause at the layer break and it is usually right in the middle of a scene. I wasted about half of a 50 pack of DL discs and really need to figure out why this is happening. If you have this exact same issue or know how to correct it please let me know. My DVD burner is a LiteOn LH-20A1L SATA by the way, and I'm using MBI Discs with mfg ID RICOHJPNSD0. MBI is supposed to make discs for major brands like Imation, TDK and Verbatim. Thanks
23. Everytime I try to burn my Video_TS file, I get a message to switch to ISO Build Mode & add my Video_TS folder to the list & then create an image. How do I do this? Before my computer crashed, I was able to back up my DVDs beautifully! I had to spend $200 for a drive that would burn my DVDs & now am starting over & can't remember how to create ISO Files.......Help!!!!
24. Checking it means the disc you create breaks the DVD Video specs. Not all players can cope with such discs and could just hang at the layer break point. The same is true of the disc you'd have created had you have not taken the image back to the raw files and instead just burnt it as-is, ignoring the warning message that it wasn't built for (OTP) DVD+R DL.
25. I seem the title explain by itself. I always write a VIDEO_TS.TXT with the nfo, and other interest data in root directory and a VIDEO_TS.MD5 with the md5 of each file in the folder VIDEO_TS (DvD-Video Only) I create now an example, with empty VIDEO_TS.TXT, VTS_04_0.IFO .BUP .VOB. ; Generated by QuickSFV v2.33 on 2007-10-20 at 04:58:45 ; http://www.QuickSFV.org ; ; 0 04:56.39 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS.TXT ; 14336 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP ; 14336 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO ; 5537792 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB ; 14336 09:23.44 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP ; 14336 09:23.44 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO ; 24711168 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB ; 14336 09:27.28 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.BUP ; 14336 09:27.28 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.IFO ; 90734592 00:58.28 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB ; 59392 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.BUP ; 59392 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.IFO ; 1067008 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_3.VOB ; 1073739776 04:39.44 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_4.VOB ; 18231296 00:33.11 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_5.VOB ; 0 04:57.02 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.BUP ; 0 04:57.27 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.IFO ; 0 04:57.36 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.VOB d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS.TXT 9689619c5dd79ca25ca8ab87e321b4d1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP 9689619c5dd79ca25ca8ab87e321b4d1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO dea1c953796de64d5a6f2af8d4db8bf1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB 564ffb59430d498f1f5a64364aeefb5b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP 564ffb59430d498f1f5a64364aeefb5b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO 49bda6a7cf17f08406f89a2c6c25472b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB 1606e7ed5459ab663d5f3c047c21db10 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.BUP 1606e7ed5459ab663d5f3c047c21db10 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.IFO af9232589b16cba805f06427270e6f5c *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB d13c626ed5e638568c790f53077af9e9 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.BUP d13c626ed5e638568c790f53077af9e9 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.IFO 1be36acdeb2ccb2720a1073559239e87 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.VOB f8bfe1f1814295ec7abcb556718f5912 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.VOB de4a62bd056e9dbb66cf1467283a7162 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB a89f9a19e76bd62f8d9f1274c826bf15 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_3.VOB 7f378bc9a420f8a06b4161b3bca2d9f7 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_4.VOB 37b308300b4085f8a258ec1d1e548c0e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_5.VOB d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.BUP d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.IFO d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.VOB The file maybe generated by ImgBurn and burned at the end of the build process (It's dificult, i know) I think may be useful a per file md5 when verifying files burned 1 year ago. This is that i burn always, and now suggest. Thanks in advance. Great Job.
