  1. hi guys... i see that there are 2425 topics listed there with 17000+ replies...this makes me wonder if this was ever brought up before! I apologize for redundancy and my ignorance in advance: i installed ImgBurn and burning CDs and DVDs alright... But I cannot VIEW the contents of an ISO file...and my PC doesn't recognize ISO as a valid file type. Do i need an additional software if I want to extract certain files out of an ISO image??? I wished that ImgBurn let me browse the content of an ISO just like ZIP or RAR file Also do I need to create an image before copying a file into the disk?? for some reason it doesn't let me drag and copy files into the CD/DVD...again this might just be me... also: if these issues are valid, can you recommend a software to browse an ISO file, and just drag and burn CDs... thank you in advance. hamron
  2. ok so i uninstalled clonecd(sorry for the mistake previously its clonecd). Still the same errors, i suspect even more. I wonder if clonecd interferred with the burning process in any way? Should i try now again burning a dl dvd? See below the log of the verifying. See below the pic from filterdriver And regarding thrcopying of the iso. The iso was always extracted from the dvd's to the disk(s) never copied from one location to another, so unless there are concrete errors on the disk surace or some kind of corruption of data then i really do not wnow what is wrong. I'll try now checking the disks...and btw thanks for helping me out, this thing is driving me nuts ok.did that, ill go now try extracting the image again to the disk and compare again.... thanks for the help bye! edit:ok.checked the disks. There were some errors which were corrected on C. No problems on 500GB disk. Surely these errors should not interfere with verify process on other disk. Did the comparison again and there were still problems with iso on 500GB vs the burned disk.... 1.) Either i have some problems with communication and need to reinstall everything(damn vista). 2.) There could possibly be problems with ATA and SATA controllers in vista and my old motherborad 3.) Clonecd interferred with the burn process and the burns were not done correctly. (i cannot verify this since i do not have empty media now....will do tomorrow another test) I'll try extracting again the iso from DVD archive and compare again I'll try recording again without any other software installed(deamon tools,....) Do yourself a favour and scan the 500gig for filesystem errors by right clicking on drive and choose properties and tools and error checking (check now), tick top box only and if prompted can only be done on next reboot say yes (to rule it out) and then try to verify or burn another copy on your pioneer 112 update firmware on 112 to latest first. best bet would be to get the game and create the ISO again from your hardware with xbc2.5 and complete backup
  3. 420w should be ok for an xp 2400+ and your other hardware. AFAIK Clonedvd gets along with ImgBurn fine, maybe they updated one of their drivers and your system does not like it. Maybe post the filter driver load order from tools menu in ImgBurn. Do not understand how you can say the hard drive is ok when you re posted to say that the 112 will not verify the disc, and you say that . see below If you copied the iso from corrupted hard drive where filesystem has errors onto the 10 gig you would also copy the glitches across. 4. I have an .avi video, and when played on the computer it plays perfectly, and after using DVD Flick and Img Burn and burning to a dvd it plays on the PC O.K. When I play it on a dvd player to watch it there is no audio. This has happened on the last two dvd's that I have burned. I then burned another DVD using the ISO image from DVDFlick and plays OK in the DVD burner (using Media Player 10) but am still getting a garbled audio playback on the player (Magnovox- MWD 2205) I have done the following: Tried two different brands of dvds (Imation & Maxell) I bought a new dvd burner. I let DVD Flick create an ISO image and burn that manually at a lower speed (1x) than the drive's maximum. I also downloaded two episodes of the Californication series and burned them (using the Sony dvd-r 1x-16x). Audio worked fine in both the Burner and the DVD Player (Magnovox- MWD 2205). I then downloaded another .avi file & the audio works fine in the burner (Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A) but when I play it in the player the audio is garbled & fuzzy. 5. Hi, ImgBurn is just the program I was looking for! Thank you so much! One suggestion: For automatic backups I would like to have a "graft mode" feature, like mkisofs has. For every file in the IBB-Config-File it would be a good option to specify the destination-path on the disk. that way it would also be possible to rename files on the disk. What burn-engine do you use to create the UDF-Format? Did you program it all by yourself or do you use some third-party library? thanks again! Karsten Violka Editor c't Magazine Germany
  6. Great - that sounds exactly how the old CDRWIN (Goldenhawk Technology) did it. The ability to read nonstandard pregaps seemed to vary with the choice of reader, however. CDRWIN would create both INDEX0 and INDEX1 times needed to create a nonstandard gap on some drives, but not on others.
  7. It knows to create a bin/cue when required, otherwise it defaults to iso - but that can still be changed.
  8. Thats weird, I´ve done the unblocking thing allready. Have to check when I get home. /Niklas EDIT: The reason the "start"-button was grayed out was Nero discpeed thougt that all of my discs that I´ve burned latly was blanks. I´m trying another disc right now. A 360 game that I think was burned with the 203. But it´s kinda wieard it´s a really cheep DVD+DL and it is the only one thats ever worked so far. I´ve sort of forgotten abaout this game. And if is´s really burned with the 203 there means that there´s hope... right? EDIT 2: Three times i´ve tried now and discspeed locks upp, aswell as the hole cpu. So I havent been able to create those nice screenprints but here is the numbers if it´s to any help: PI Error Avg: 33.12, Max: 159, Tot: 489785 PI Fail: Avg: 0.98, Max: 13, Tot: 115742 /Niklas
  9. The "Start" button is "grayed" out in disc quality-mode. It´s only klickable in create a disc-mode. /Niklas

    Newer Ps3

Alter I have a 250 sata drive in usb enclosure working fine Format it to FAT32 (you will need a tool to format a drive this size to FAT32 as windows will not let you) There are a few tools but this one is free and def works http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm Make Sure that any folder you create on it is in CAPS files inside these folders any case will do. If you find you cannot find media you know is def on drive then press Triangle and show all on Ps3 controller. What size TV are you thinking about ?
  11. That's what I meant in same folder as cdspeed etc. And as mentioned above its not create disc but disc quality
  12. You don't want 'Create Disc', you want 'Disc Quality'.
  13. I get errormessage saying: NO ADISSIONAL SENSE INFORMATION (0000000) when I try running discspeed and create a disc.
  14. Hi, everyone! I'm trying to create a single layer ISO on hard drive using ImgBurn. But i have a problerm entering the file name for image file in the 'Destination' box. Don't know what's the problem. Need help!
  15. I don't know what IFO BUP or VOB files are unfortunately, so I can't answer that question. What I can tell you is that I use DVD Shrink with DVDFab Decrypter and Imgburn for my single layer discs. I don't really know how they all do what they do, but I am able to make them work. I just let them create their folders and then retrieve them in the next program and they do the rest. If there's something more I need to do with my DL discs, then I just need someone to tell me. I can't get to the next step in the guide I mentioned because I can't get it to open any of the folders created by DVDFab. I was in build mode. I followd the few steps carefully before trying to open the folders. I'll check out that other guide you sent. Thanks.
  16. First of all, I love ImgBurn. Just want to get that out of the way, seeming that it's my first time to the forum. I just wanted to know if it is possible to create an ISO file of a double sided DVD and if so what I would need to do it? It has fullscreen on one side and wide on the other. I noticed that ImgBurn only seems to recognize the one side that is being read at the moment. Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2 NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A [CD-ROM drive] I'm using TDK DL DVD+R(rw)
  17. Thanks for the above link. . In fact I used the steps suggested on one of the posts in the forum Now I got some understanding. I used to burn dvd data disks using Roxio Easy CD media Creator 5.0. It was accidentally deleted recently. When I create a DVD data disk with that sw, I could retrieve the data when I boot that disk. I am not able to do this with IMGBURN software. Surely I am missing some basics. I am totally in a learning process. Here is what I have done. I started with about 6.0 GB of a MP3 folder as source file. I chose a destination file onto my hard drive . Here are the steps: Mode - Build - browse and selected source file from hard drive Output - Imagefile - browse and selected a file on hard disk- checked to verify Options - ISO9660 + UDF - Recursive subdirectories Lablels - entered same label under ISO9660 and UDF Advanced - Date - entered todays date Media - under single layer DVD+R/RW - under double layer DVD+R DL Restrictions - ISO9960 - Level one - Charac. set standard Finally clicked BUILD waited for the build to complete. I got advisory msg not to use ISO file the sw changed it to MDS In the output directory folder I see 3 files look like the following test dvd 4,194,300 kb I00 file date test dvd-1 1,868,300 kb I01 file date test dvd 9 kb MDS file date I clicked test dvd - I got the following msg Windows cannot open the file I selected Imgburn as a program to open the file I see a Imgburn screen . How could I see my original MP3 files. If it were actual dvd disc burn, I would expect to see my original directory of MP3 files when I place the DVD data disk in DVD drive I do not see what I have done wrong. Could someone comment on this ? Do u suggest I should try actual DVD burn instead of Imagefile ? Thanks in anticipation of ur reply. anant
  18. Like IFOs. Create them with IFOEdit but doi ensure the VOBs are DVD compliant (size and mux) Regards
  19. im using DVD Flick to burn videos to dvd. During the Finalize process ImgBurn opens and I get the following error: ---------------------- Cannot add file to image! Name: ......\dvd\dvd.iso size: 4, 382,752,768 bytes File size exceeds the limit imposed by the ISO9660 file system. ----------------------------- I don't really understand why ImgBurn opens at all because i assumed DVD Flick would do all the work. In the settings i choose to burn to disc and not to create an ISO image. The video does not exceed the dvd disk space. I can't get past this point and if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
  20. I've had no trouble with this before today, but have tried 7 or 8 times today with no success. 21. you do not have to manually set laybreak if .DVD is present )eg right click on .DVD and choose burn with ImgBurn and make sure your using the latest firmware for your writer and set booktype to DVD-ROM and burn at 2.4. use xbc2.5 and it will create .DVD , the way you typed it appears as if your manually creating .DVD file and make sure in xbc2.5 you tick complete and not just partition The full log would help as pointed out above.
  22. No, I didn't change a thing. Here's what I did, as I typically do: 1. Prepare source files with PGCEdit, use PGCEdit's "Burn DVD/Create ISO" just to see potential layer break positions, set the seamless flag manually in PGCEdit, save the source files (note that I remove the backup directory first), and then exit PGCEdit. I've noted the sector number that PGCEdit calculated at this point, by the way. 2. Open ImgBurn and press F6 to enter debug mode, add the root directory for the DVD to the build job. Note that I usually employ a directory structure such as the following DVD_NAME Burn VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS So I add the Burn directory as the root of the build job. 3. I set custom dates and labels in the job 4. I then press the calculate icon in Imgburn - it presents me with layer break choices, none of which match that calculated by PGCEdit 5. If I haven't already, I add a blank DVD (usually it's already inserted) 6. I press the Write icon in Imgburn - it presents me with layer break choices, with at least one matching my choice that PGCEdit calculated 7. The burn proceeds and finishes fine! So, as you can see I've done nothing outside of ImgBurn between the calculation and write stage. As I've said, I've encountered this three times in the past months, though by the volume of DVDs I burn, I'd estimate that amounts to less than 5% of the instances. In addition, since the sector calculated by ImgBurn's write mode is correct, the DVD is written correctly with the desired LB. The only time I was thrown off was the one time when ImgBurn stated there were no appropriate layer break positions when I pressed calculate, but as I said when I pressed write, it found potential LB positions, one of which matched what I had chosen/calculated with PGCEdit. What also seems to prove that I'm not changing anything between the "Calculate" and the "Write" is the fact that the sector number at ImgBurn's write stage matches PGCEdit's calculated sector number for the same sector. If I was changing some data between the Calculate and Write stages in Imgburn, you'd expect that the sector number at the Calculate stage would match PGCEdit's, and THEN change when the Write stage started... So, if this is a spurious error with the sector calculations, it is hard to duplicate when it only happens in less than 5% of the instances, and it is of little consequence since it ends up writing correctly. I only mention it in case you wanted to examine possible reasons. You are probably bored since 2.3.2.0 has had little complaints since it was released! :-) Seriously, it looks like you've squashed all or most of the bugs... Any ideas how I can troubleshoot further? Regards, fordman
  23. ImgBurn is a burning tool, not a backup one. If you want to backup data to multiple discs you need a backup tool - or at least a burning tool that's geared that way - ImgBurn is not. With ImgBurn, what goes in = what comes out. If you give it 10GB of files it'll create a 10GB ISO file. It won't create multiple discs with independent file systems and a few folders/files on each.
  24. I just bought an Optiarc AD-5170 A. I just threw away a Plexstar 716A. The Plexstar lasted only about a year and a half with minimal use. What a POS. I bought it thinking it was a great drive. Oh well. I bought some cheap NX2 dual layer media from Circuit City today to try out my new burner. I bought the DVD "Cars" and wanted to copy it for my wifes grandkids. I used DVDFAB to rip and Nero Recode to burn. I chose Recode intire DVD to DVD, imported ripped files and changed to DVD-9. Burned the movie. I lost the main menu that had all the extras I was trying to get for the kids. The movie played but with no main menu. I used to use ImgBurn to make ISO files to attach to Daemon to run DVD2ONE. I only did this because DVDDecrypter had to die and I couldn't rip ISO images directly from the media. To make a long story short I remembered this software and that I could create ISO images so I downloaded it and followed the great guides on this forum and burnt a great disc with all the goodies. The kids are happy and so am I. Thanks Chef
  25. @Martin H Yes this exactly how LUK understood it, it's not wizard, it's just a screen taht can lead to the principal area of the program. And ImgBurn is probably used by ppl whose native tongue is not english, and is certainly proposed to non english computer "newbie", I think a bit and only a bit of attention to their clumsiness is nice for them. Btw i don't really like them either (wiazrds), but sometime it is a good thing for some ppl that can be lost on a computer. And on this program i don't think it's a good idea to create a wizard anyway, and a welcome screen is probably well enough. @blackdavinci Wow, your mockup is great, i'm backing up this design
