  1. I have just discovered ImgBurn as the successor to DVDD … (I am very familiar with the latter). In DVDD, to copy a dual-layer original, I would simply read (create an ISO image) and write directly to a dual-layer DVD. In ImgBurn, the Guides now discuss setting the layer break …. surely, an ISO image created from the original dual-layer DVD would have the layer break defined within it, so once again it would just be a case of writing the image … or am I missing something?! Cheers, Mark
  2. Hello, This is my first post on these forums. I tried searching around for an answer to my problem, but I was unable to find a solution. I am trying to create a *.iso file from an existing *.ibb file using the ImgBurn command line interface. Sometimes it works very well, and other times I get the following error: Invalid or unsupported image file format! Reason: First image file part is less than 2048 bytes in size. I use the following command line parameters to launch ImgBurn: imgburn.exe /src "C:\test.ibb" /overwrite /noimagedetails /start /closesuccess Here is a copy of my *.ibb file: IBB [sTART_BACKUP_OPTIONS] BuildMode=2 Destination=C:\test.iso FileSystem=1 PreserveFullPathnames=1 RecurseSubdirectories=1 IncludeHiddenFiles=1 IncludeSystemFiles=1 IncludeArchiveFilesOnly=0 AddToWriteQueueWhenDone=0 ClearArchiveAttribute=0 VolumeLabel_ISO9660= VolumeLabel_Joliet=Test volume VolumeLabel_UDF= Identifier_System= Identifier_VolumeSet= Identifier_Publisher= Identifier_Preparer= Identifier_Application= Dates_FolderFileType=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_InterchangeLevel=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_CharacterSet=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_AllowMoreThan8DirectoryLevels=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_AllowMoreThan255CharactersInPath=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_AllowFilesWithoutExtensions=0 Restrictions_ISO9660_DontAddVersionNumberToFiles=0 Restrictions_Joliet_InterchangeLevel=0 Restrictions_Joliet_AllowFilesWithoutExtensions=0 Restrictions_Joliet_AddVersionNumberToFiles=0 Restrictions_UDF_DisableUnicodeSupport=0 BootableDisc_MakeImageBootable=0 [END_BACKUP_OPTIONS] [sTART_BACKUP_LIST] E:\temp E:\TempExport [END_BACKUP_LIST] Here is a copy of my log file when the task failed: //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 - Log ; Thursday, 25 October 2007, 17:38:32 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 17:38:27 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! 3. Hi, thank you for a very good software. I would also appreciate to have the possibility to create folders "on the fly", for example, like this in .IBB: [sTART_BACKUP_LIST] C:\SPW\INST\setup.exe ; \Setup\Setup.exe In the .IBB, it is easy to create such a line. In the GUI, this could be done by right-click on previously added file od folder... Please ;-) Kind regards, Karel Rys
  4. I'm in the middle of a discussion on the Adobe Encore DVD forum about what should be used to submit an acceptable Master to a replication house. One of the more respected members of that forum says he would never in a million years submit a DL DVD even if they accept them. He says that one should use a $400 program called Gear Pro Mastering Edition to create two single layer DDP DVDs and IFOedit in this long drawn out process to create the layer break in the right spot. I just wrote him a reply stating that ImgBurn has a feature where I can verify bit for bit that my ISO file matches my burned DVD. In addition, I posted the link to the guide about creating a double layer ISO, or double layer DVD with ImgBurn's built in layer break calculator. Here is his post about using Gear Pro and IFOedit to create these DDP discs (it's so long) http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bbf1866 Wanting to get your input on if ImgBurn can handle all this and I can feel confident after creating a double layer disc to submit for replication and/or create these DDP DVDs (one layer on each DVD) Thanks for creating such a great program! Mike
  5. Hello again, I'm getting towards the point where I'm going to be authoring this DVD. Something is a bit unclear to me though. In the Adobe Encore help, it says: So as you can see in the screenshot I've attached, it's giving me two radio buttons Side One OR Side Two. The help file is telling me I need to create two different projects, one for each side?!? What should I do? I wonder if it's possible to author the whole project as Side One and then use ImgBurn to insert the layer break in order to make two sides?
  6. Hi, I would be extreamly greatful if someone can tell me if i can create a iso of a ps1 disk from imgburn, ive read through lots of forums on it and i have gone through the help pages. I am in the read mode of the program but the disk icon at the bottom is grey out and i cant start saving a iso image of the disk. I would be very greatful for help on this please. Many many thanks in advance
  7. When trying to create an ISO from a dual layer DVD I get the following error: This happens at exaclty 50% progress. Anybody got any ideas? I also noticed that it looks like its creating the ISO in NTFS format when the disk itself is PAL. Any reason for this or way to change the settings? Any help much appreciated
  8. You did not say how you came by the files or how they were created which is why I asked if you had used DVD shrink in custom mode to create ISO
  9. why would I use dvd shrink to burn a dvd9 when I have imgburn? he wasn't asking if you going to burn it with shrink, he meant did you create the original iso with shrink, if so , as blu said , it messes up the layer break
  10. I can't seem to get a working copy with layer breaks. I have read all the information about using PGCedit and can successfully create the ISO and it does burn OK with ImgBurn (Latest version). The problem is that the DVD pauses and freezes several times around the layer break position. I have tried several different movies, several different layer break positions and 4 different burning programs. I've tried ImgBurn first, then DVDFab Platinum, CopytoDVD and CloneCD. Every single copy with layer breaks has playback issues. I can burn the exact same movie without layer breaks and it is fine except that there is a very noticable pause at the layer break and it is usually right in the middle of a scene. I wasted about half of a 50 pack of DL discs and really need to figure out why this is happening. If you have this exact same issue or know how to correct it please let me know. My DVD burner is a LiteOn LH-20A1L SATA by the way, and I'm using MBI Discs with mfg ID RICOHJPNSD0. MBI is supposed to make discs for major brands like Imation, TDK and Verbatim. Thanks

from your PM ( all contact goes intot he forums for all to read and help with) your trying to create an ISO file from your dvd disc to your hard drive ? yeah if thats the case, be aware that ImgBurn wont do this with copywrite protected discs otherwise, a glance in the GUIDES forum will sort you out GUIDES forum http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showforum=4
  12. Everytime I try to burn my Video_TS file, I get a message to switch to ISO Build Mode & add my Video_TS folder to the list & then create an image. How do I do this? Before my computer crashed, I was able to back up my DVDs beautifully! I had to spend $200 for a drive that would burn my DVDs & now am starting over & can't remember how to create ISO Files.......Help!!!!
  13. Checking it means the disc you create breaks the DVD Video specs. Not all players can cope with such discs and could just hang at the layer break point. The same is true of the disc you'd have created had you have not taken the image back to the raw files and instead just burnt it as-is, ignoring the warning message that it wasn't built for (OTP) DVD+R DL.
  14. I seem the title explain by itself. I always write a VIDEO_TS.TXT with the nfo, and other interest data in root directory and a VIDEO_TS.MD5 with the md5 of each file in the folder VIDEO_TS (DvD-Video Only) I create now an example, with empty VIDEO_TS.TXT, VTS_04_0.IFO .BUP .VOB. ; Generated by QuickSFV v2.33 on 2007-10-20 at 04:58:45 ; [url="http://www.QuickSFV.org"]http://www.QuickSFV.org[/url] ; ; 0 04:56.39 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS.TXT ; 14336 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP ; 14336 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO ; 5537792 14:19.53 2007-10-18 VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB ; 14336 09:23.44 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP ; 14336 09:23.44 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO ; 24711168 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB ; 14336 09:27.28 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.BUP ; 14336 09:27.28 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.IFO ; 90734592 00:58.28 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB ; 59392 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.BUP ; 59392 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.IFO ; 1067008 10:20.51 2007-10-17 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB ; 1073739776 04:43.51 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_3.VOB ; 1073739776 04:39.44 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_4.VOB ; 18231296 00:33.11 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_5.VOB ; 0 04:57.02 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.BUP ; 0 04:57.27 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.IFO ; 0 04:57.36 2007-10-20 VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.VOB d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS.TXT 9689619c5dd79ca25ca8ab87e321b4d1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP 9689619c5dd79ca25ca8ab87e321b4d1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO dea1c953796de64d5a6f2af8d4db8bf1 *VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB 564ffb59430d498f1f5a64364aeefb5b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.BUP 564ffb59430d498f1f5a64364aeefb5b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO 49bda6a7cf17f08406f89a2c6c25472b *VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB 1606e7ed5459ab663d5f3c047c21db10 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.BUP 1606e7ed5459ab663d5f3c047c21db10 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.IFO af9232589b16cba805f06427270e6f5c *VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB d13c626ed5e638568c790f53077af9e9 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.BUP d13c626ed5e638568c790f53077af9e9 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.IFO 1be36acdeb2ccb2720a1073559239e87 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_0.VOB f8bfe1f1814295ec7abcb556718f5912 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.VOB de4a62bd056e9dbb66cf1467283a7162 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_2.VOB a89f9a19e76bd62f8d9f1274c826bf15 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_3.VOB 7f378bc9a420f8a06b4161b3bca2d9f7 *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_4.VOB 37b308300b4085f8a258ec1d1e548c0e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_5.VOB d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.BUP d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.IFO d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e *VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.VOB The file maybe generated by ImgBurn and burned at the end of the build process (It's dificult, i know) I think may be useful a per file md5 when verifying files burned 1 year ago. This is that i burn always, and now suggest. Thanks in advance. Great Job.
  15. hi guys... i see that there are 2425 topics listed there with 17000+ replies...this makes me wonder if this was ever brought up before! I apologize for redundancy and my ignorance in advance: i installed ImgBurn and burning CDs and DVDs alright... But I cannot VIEW the contents of an ISO file...and my PC doesn't recognize ISO as a valid file type. Do i need an additional software if I want to extract certain files out of an ISO image??? I wished that ImgBurn let me browse the content of an ISO just like ZIP or RAR file Also do I need to create an image before copying a file into the disk?? for some reason it doesn't let me drag and copy files into the CD/DVD...again this might just be me... also: if these issues are valid, can you recommend a software to browse an ISO file, and just drag and burn CDs... thank you in advance. hamron
  16. ok so i uninstalled clonecd(sorry for the mistake previously its clonecd). Still the same errors, i suspect even more. I wonder if clonecd interferred with the burning process in any way? Should i try now again burning a dl dvd? See below the log of the verifying. See below the pic from filterdriver And regarding thrcopying of the iso. The iso was always extracted from the dvd's to the disk(s) never copied from one location to another, so unless there are concrete errors on the disk surace or some kind of corruption of data then i really do not wnow what is wrong. I'll try now checking the disks...and btw thanks for helping me out, this thing is driving me nuts ok.did that, ill go now try extracting the image again to the disk and compare again.... thanks for the help bye! edit:ok.checked the disks. There were some errors which were corrected on C. No problems on 500GB disk. Surely these errors should not interfere with verify process on other disk. Did the comparison again and there were still problems with iso on 500GB vs the burned disk.... 1.) Either i have some problems with communication and need to reinstall everything(damn vista). 2.) There could possibly be problems with ATA and SATA controllers in vista and my old motherborad 3.) Clonecd interferred with the burn process and the burns were not done correctly. (i cannot verify this since i do not have empty media now....will do tomorrow another test) I'll try extracting again the iso from DVD archive and compare again I'll try recording again without any other software installed(deamon tools,....) Do yourself a favour and scan the 500gig for filesystem errors by right clicking on drive and choose properties and tools and error checking (check now), tick top box only and if prompted can only be done on next reboot say yes (to rule it out) and then try to verify or burn another copy on your pioneer 112 update firmware on 112 to latest first. best bet would be to get the game and create the ISO again from your hardware with xbc2.5 and complete backup
  17. 420w should be ok for an xp 2400+ and your other hardware. AFAIK Clonedvd gets along with ImgBurn fine, maybe they updated one of their drivers and your system does not like it. Maybe post the filter driver load order from tools menu in ImgBurn. Do not understand how you can say the hard drive is ok when you re posted to say that the 112 will not verify the disc, and you say that . see below If you copied the iso from corrupted hard drive where filesystem has errors onto the 10 gig you would also copy the glitches across. 18. I have an .avi video, and when played on the computer it plays perfectly, and after using DVD Flick and Img Burn and burning to a dvd it plays on the PC O.K. When I play it on a dvd player to watch it there is no audio. This has happened on the last two dvd's that I have burned. (I tried another previously burned dvd in the player and it works OK ) 0:55:26 AM: DVD Flick 1.2.2.0 beta build 439 10:55:26 AM: Calculating stream sizes... 10:55:26 AM: Disc space used : 4360133 KB 10:55:26 AM: Average bitrate : 4405 Kbit/s 10:55:26 AM: Total duration : 2:03:59 hours 10:55:26 AM: 1 title(s). 10:55:26 AM: Using Normal encoding profile. 10:55:26 AM: Encoding to ntsc-dvd 10:55:26 AM: Encoding video... 10:55:26 AM: Title 0, source 0 10:55:26 AM: Source : c:\documents and settings\perry intel\my documents\downloads\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo.avi 10:55:26 AM: Properties : 640x320, 2:1, 23.98 FPS, mpeg4, 7438.9 seconds 10:55:26 AM: Target BitRate : 4405 Kbit\s 10:55:26 AM: Recompressing 10:55:26 AM: C:\Program Files\DVD Flick\ffmpeg.exe -i "c:\documents and settings\perry intel\my documents\downloads\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo.avi" -s 720x424 -padtop 28 -padbottom 28 -r 29.97 -g 18 -vcodec mpeg2video -bufsize 1835008 -packetsize 2048 -muxrate 10080000 -aspect 16:9 -minrate 4405k -maxrate 4405k -b 4405k -preme 1 -precmp 2 -subcmp 8 -mbcmp 8 -cmp 1 -mbd 1 -rmethod lanczos -sc_threshold -9000 -bf 1 -an -threads 1 -fflags genpts -strict 2 -f mpeg2video "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\0.0.m2v" -map 0:0 12:42:33 PM: Combining video sources... 12:42:33 PM: Concatenating videos... 12:42:33 PM: Title 0 12:42:33 PM: Encoding audio... 12:42:33 PM: Title 0, track 0, source 0 of 0 12:42:33 PM: Source : c:\documents and settings\perry intel\my documents\downloads\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo.avi 12:42:33 PM: Properties : 2 channels, 48000 Hz, mp3, 7438.9 seconds 12:42:33 PM: Recompressing to 192 Kbit\s with 2 channel(s) 12:42:33 PM: -i "c:\documents and settings\perry intel\my documents\downloads\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo\sicko2007dvdripengaxxo.avi" -ab 192k -ac 2 -acodec ac3 -ar 48000 -threads 1 -i "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\0.0.m2v" "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\0.0.0.ac3" -map 0:1:1:0 12:48:08 PM: Combining audio sources... 12:48:08 PM: Concatenating... 12:48:08 PM: Title 0 12:48:08 PM: Combining sources... 12:48:08 PM: Multiplexing audio and video... 12:48:08 PM: Title 0 12:48:08 PM: C:\Program Files\DVD Flick\dvdauthor\tcmplex-panteltje.exe -m d -N -o "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\title0.mpg" -i "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\0.0.m2v" -0 "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\0.0.ac3" 1:00:40 PM: Cleaning up... 1:00:45 PM: Adding subtitles... 1:00:45 PM: Authoring DVD... 1:00:46 PM: Authoring 1 title(s). 1:00:46 PM: C:\Program Files\DVD Flick\dvdauthor\dvdauthor.exe -x "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\dvdauthor.xml" 1:10:51 PM: Cleaning up... 1:10:51 PM: Finalizing... 1:10:51 PM: Creating ISO image 1:10:52 PM: /mode build /buildmode imagefile /noimagedetails /rootfolder yes /filesystem iso9660+udf /close /nosavesettings /recursesubdirs yes /start /src "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\dvd" /volumelabel Sicko /dest "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\dvd.iso" /log "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\imgburn.txt" 1:18:32 PM: Burning to disc 1:18:33 PM: /mode isowrite /start /nosavesettings /waitformedia /src "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\dvd.iso" /dest D /log "C:\Documents and Settings\Perry Intel\My Documents\DVD\imgburn.txt" /erase 6:09:34 PM: Finished. I then burned another DVD using the ISO image from DVDFlick and plays OK in the DVD burner (using Media Player 10) but am still getting a garbled audio playback on the player (Magnovox- MWD 2205) I have done the following: Tried two different brands of dvds (Imation & Maxell) I bought a new dvd burner. I let DVD Flick create an ISO image and burn that manually at a lower speed (1x) than the drive's maximum. I also downloaded two episodes of the Californication series and burned them (using the Sony dvd-r 1x-16x). Audio worked fine in both the Burner and the DVD Player (Magnovox- MWD 2205). I then downloaded another .avi file & the audio works fine in the burner (Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A) but when I play it in the player the audio is garbled & fuzzy. But why will the Californication series work in the player?? I'm lost Any thoughts would be great, tks, pwink
  19. Hi, ImgBurn is just the program I was looking for! Thank you so much! One suggestion: For automatic backups I would like to have a "graft mode" feature, like mkisofs has. For every file in the IBB-Config-File it would be a good option to specify the destination-path on the disk. that way it would also be possible to rename files on the disk. What burn-engine do you use to create the UDF-Format? Did you program it all by yourself or do you use some third-party library? thanks again! Karsten Violka Editor c't Magazine Germany
  20. Great - that sounds exactly how the old CDRWIN (Goldenhawk Technology) did it. The ability to read nonstandard pregaps seemed to vary with the choice of reader, however. CDRWIN would create both INDEX0 and INDEX1 times needed to create a nonstandard gap on some drives, but not on others.
  21. It knows to create a bin/cue when required, otherwise it defaults to iso - but that can still be changed.
  22. First of all, I love ImgBurn. Just want to get that out of the way, seeming that it's my first time to the forum. I just wanted to know if it is possible to create an ISO file of a double sided DVD and if so what I would need to do it? It has fullscreen on one side and wide on the other. I noticed that ImgBurn only seems to recognize the one side that is being read at the moment. 23. Thats weird, I´ve done the unblocking thing allready. Have to check when I get home. /Niklas EDIT: The reason the "start"-button was grayed out was Nero discpeed thougt that all of my discs that I´ve burned latly was blanks. I´m trying another disc right now. A 360 game that I think was burned with the 203. But it´s kinda wieard it´s a really cheep DVD+DL and it is the only one thats ever worked so far. I´ve sort of forgotten abaout this game. And if is´s really burned with the 203 there means that there´s hope... right? EDIT 2: Three times i´ve tried now and discspeed locks upp, aswell as the hole cpu. So I havent been able to create those nice screenprints but here is the numbers if it´s to any help: PI Error Avg: 33.12, Max: 159, Tot: 489785 PI Fail: Avg: 0.98, Max: 13, Tot: 115742 /Niklas
  24. The "Start" button is "grayed" out in disc quality-mode. It´s only klickable in create a disc-mode. /Niklas

    Newer Ps3

Alter I have a 250 sata drive in usb enclosure working fine Format it to FAT32 (you will need a tool to format a drive this size to FAT32 as windows will not let you) There are a few tools but this one is free and def works http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm Make Sure that any folder you create on it is in CAPS files inside these folders any case will do. If you find you cannot find media you know is def on drive then press Triangle and show all on Ps3 controller. What size TV are you thinking about ?
