Hello there. I recently bought some Verbatim CD-Rs via ebay. The discs have proven to be of poor quality, perhaps unsurprisingly. However, my query is regarding when I burned a “cue” image file to the discs (i.e. CD Audio) using ImgBurn with the verify option turned on. The discs appeared to have burned successfully and no verify errors were reported. On playing back the discs on a CD player, or through the computer, there were quite significant audible errors. Using Nero DiscSpeed to check these discs revealed a high proportion of bad sectors (marked in amber) on the disc map that program produces, implying the discs were of poor quality. The first two of the discs I tried gave similar results (nero reported > 50% error). I do not have this problem with other media, so feel reasonably confident that this particular batch of CD-Rs is the problem. To reinforce this conclusion I used the ImgBurn “Create image file from disc” option, choosing a WAV file output from one of the discs described above. Auditioning the WAV file reproduced the same audio errors, but the ImgBurn log of this operation did not indicate any errors. My question is this: Is there a reason that ImgBurn does not report verify errors, perhaps because of a quirk of the Audio CD file structure or some other cause. I’ve been using the program for many years now, and always verify with DVDs for both data and video, and read/write errors are reported in the log for these other formats. I'm running the latest ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 and have used it many times in the past with success. I'm now trying to make a copy of several Blu-ray BD-R disks I created myself using Vegas Pro. These disks all work fine. They are single layer on TDK media. I suspect these are HTL media. The device is an LG BE14NU40, a good quality external USB drive. The technical spec says it supports everything, including BD-R LTH media. The media I am trying to write to is Verbatim BD-R LTH 43813. So I used Create image file from disk, and that made me an ISO image, no problem. Then I put in the new media and used Write image file to disk. The first time it said it couldn't write to sector 1, kept retrying, and gave up with an error. It is possible that disk was bad as I had previously tried to write to it with Nero, (and that program had said the disk was "illegal".) The second time I tried a new disk, and this time it wrote the disk, apparently OK, but when it started to verify I got "Layouts do not match". I tried playing the disk and it partly worked but had all sorts of errors. I have also tried burning some disks directly from Vegas Pro, to the same Verbatim disks, and it has worked perfectly. And they play perfectly. This seems to imply the hardware works, and the disks work. Questions. 1. Can one make an ISO image from an HTL disk and write it to an LTH disk? 2. Should I try simply copying all the files to my hard disk and then use Write files/folders? 3. I looked for firmware updates. I downloaded the latest firmware from LG. I can't find how to find out the version of firmware already on the drive? When I run the updater it simply does nothing, no display. Perhaps because I'm on Win 10. I pulled out my ancient XP laptop (it says it supports XP) and tried the update on that, but the program gives an error message at once and stops. Any suggestions please?

When the Create Layer Break dialog opens, there's a listing called Padding where it is something like, say, 10. What exactly does Padding mean? 10 what?

I am guessing this Producer created a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive before it creates an ISO? If know where this VIDEO_TS folder is, open Build mode in ImgBurn and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder into the Build job. Then create and burn the image. I am also guessing this Producer makes DVD's and not Blu-Rays. I forget the name of the folder Blu-Rays produce.

For some reason producer wont create an iso,it hangs up about half way thru,I've been able to burn a dl disc with imgburn in the past but how I did it eludes me now,could someone be kind enough to walk me thru the steps to accomplish this,it would be greatly appreciated.Bill

ImgBurn can burn a DVD Video compatible disc but it cannot create the VIDEO_TS files from an MP4 or AVI necessary to make a DVD Video. I use ConvertXToDVD to create a VIDEO_TS. There are free apps, but the only one I ever tried took like 6 hours to make a half hour video. I then use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS ConvertXToDVD creates. All you need to do is drag and drop the VIDEO_TS in Build mode.

ImgBurn can create and burn existing images for writing to CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray. ImgBurn can create Audio CD's from various types of music files playable with software like Windows Media Player. It can create DVD Video DVD's from pre-existing DVD Video files as well as non DVD Video data DVD's. It can create Blu-Ray movies from pre-existing Blu-Ray files and non movie data Blu-Rays. Lastly, as long as the disc isn't copy protected, ImgBurn can read a CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray to an image file for the purposes of making an archive.

Hi, I am trying to create a .Cue file. When I click create a .Cue file I get a screen that shows the Description with Disk and the 2:00 on the right. Just to the right of that is the folder button. When I click on it to locate the .mp3 file I want I get a popup with the error C06D0057 I am using WIndows 7. Thanks,

I cannot seem to create a bootable DVD. I used ImgBurn to create an ISO file from a Win 7 Pro X64 OEM disk. Then as a test, I tried to burn it back to a new DVD. I used a boot image file created from this machine, which is the exact same version of Win 7. I also tried creating a boot image file from the original Microsoft DVD. Although examination shows all the same files, the copies will not boot. I'm doing this so that I can eventually patch the installation files with a Microsoft Hotfix and some Intel USB drivers. Finished ----------------------------------------- Come to think of it, as an image of a disc is a byte-by-byte copy, writing that to another DVD should make a perfect copy, itself readable.

Well, there could be an issue depending on how you recorded these shows to DVD. If you used a standalone DVD recorder like Panasonic makes, some models make DVD's that can't be copied with ImgBurn's Read function. You have to use Build mode and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder into a new Build job to create a new image to make a "copy." About heeding the warnings of unwanted stuff, the easiest way to do that is to disconnect your modem before running the installer. The installer will run without OpenCandy phoning home and offering third party installs because it can never access the server that would feed these installs. You will get an error from OpenCandy not being able to download anything, but who cares?

Using the latest build of ImgeBurn 2.5.8.0 and the latest Windows 10 insider Build 10586. Windows 10 does not show ImgBurn as a installed program, tried Windows 7 compatibility mode no luck. But Classic Shell start menu lists it with a empty shortcut folder, this is a shell to replace Windows start menu. Did a Windows 10 DVD test burn of the installed ImgeBurn.exe file, 100% OK. So the program work 100% in Windows 10 but the software is not installing OK so that Windows 10 can list it, the again I might be doing some thing wrong,- Any chance to get this working for Windows 10, as Windows 8.1 or 10, ISO burn does not create bootable DVD's for me, That's on a late model Toshiba Satellite P50-A a EFI laptop, ImgBurn does when using my main Desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro to create the image. I never tested ImgBurn on Windows 8.1 I am happy to do some upgrade testing if that is needed for a fix.

As long as you use Read mode " Create image file from disc" the copy will be exactly as the original, no compression.

I tried to do a backup, but I get the above error msg (ok, i'ts preceded by "Arrrrgggh!"). ImgBurn then says "Operation Aborted", presumably because of this warning. I can see what the incompatible file names are; I guess what I'd like to do is to create a non-Joliet compatible DVD. I know how to turn off logging of non-compliant names in the Settings dialog, and I guess that will prevent the above warning; and it looks like I can turn off actual Joliet compatibility in the Options tab; but what are the implications of this? In the event of a hard disk crash down the road, will I be able to restore my files from the DVD?

How do I create a ISO from an already copied dvd to hdd. The folder structure on the hdd is the same as a dvd.

I'm trying to xflash an M1015 card to IT mode. Unfortunately, the second step requires a UEFI shell, and although my motherboard (GA970A-UD3P) has one on offer, it's apparently invocable only from Win8(!) which doesn't help me since my machines run XP. So I'm wondering, since ImgBurn seems to be the Swiss Army knife of cd burning software, is there some way I can write a cd such that it will boot to SHELLX64.EFI ?

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's a video DVD. "Ez-Mode Picker ..." > "Create image file from disc" was used to create the .iso file. Meanwhile I received the .mds file of subject .iso image. I used ... "Tools" > "ISO" > "Display IFO Layer Break Information" ... to load the at a first place the .iso file, then the .mds file. The data shown is the window is identical! Does this mean that I can safely disregard the .mds file of this video .iso image? In other works ... buring the DVD from the .iso, is this DVD 100.00% identical to the burn from the .mds file? If the answer to both questions above is "yes", why does ImgBurn generate an .mds file when creating an image? Thanks,

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't know what UNC is. I'm not that savvy, which is why I've always enjoyed the simplicity of imgburn. So could it be a faulty network cable or something? Seems odd because I'm not getting errors anywhere else, such as streaming from my NAS to my PC or the many TVs in the house. Also, I've been using other image creating software and they aren't having problems (apart from the fact they create images I can't play...!)

This may not be an Imgburn issue since the problem also happens with other programs like CDBURNERXP, but I decided to open this thread because the drive I mentioned in the title has been mentioned in previous threads http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/21285-48-mins-to-read-dvd-create-image-file-ready-for-burn/ I bought this drive 2 years ago and I have had no problems until yesterday morning. I have to make clear that I don´t receive any reading errors, which is a relieve. I am just facing slow reading speeds and I cannot understand why. After several tries, I have reached to these conclusions: - The slowdown problems only happens while reading original unprotected DVDS/ Audio Cds/ PSX-PS2 Games. Not always, but most of the times. For example a couple of minutes ago I copied an unprotected DVD to my hard disk and it went really fast. I tried to do the same again with the same disc but this time I did not get any speed faster than 5X. - While copying burned disc there is no slowdown problems at all. (I have not tried burning any disc yet, though I always burn everything at 4x) - When the slowdowns happen, I have realized that the drive starts doing that classical spinning noise every drive does while reading a disc. However, it shuts up as soon as it starts, as if the drive was turned off or something. - As I previously said, this problem started yesterday and even with slowdowns I have not had any read errors yet. All the copy process finish correctly, slowly, but correctly. - The problem is even worse while triying to copy audio discs. The maximum speeds I get are between 3.6x-5x (when my máximum speed is of 48!) Could anyone help me with this? Thanks. EDIT: I tried to dump the disc with Imgburn last version and this is what appears in the log Focus on the sentences I marked in black. It says that the media only supports read speeds of 4 and 6 x, but that´s impossible! I have just copied this same disc in other drive and I got an average speed of 12 X, and I also have a similar speed while dumping it with the drive I am having problem with (as I mentioned that it works fast sometimes). Something weird is going on. EDIT2: I have just inserted a brand new PS2 disc and this is the information in IMGBURNS Information box What does it mean by current Speed read? Suppose I have an audio CD that has a data track section on it to store bonus MP3's of things that aren't the tracks on the audio CD and the CD cover art. Is there a way I can just copy the audio CD session from this disc? I ask because the PS3 sees the data track instead of the audio CD track on this disc when I try to play it. I'm guessing there's no way to do this. I would have to say the only way I can copy this CD so that it's an audio CD only is to rip the audio CD tracks to MP3's with Windows Media Player. Then use ImgBurn to create a CUE file from these MP3's? Am I right or is there another way?

I want to write 2,3 folders ( that contains 1080p resolution movie files- total capacity within 4.7GB) in a DVD with Menu. Please suggest me how can I do with IMG Burn.

Hello, ImgBurn is amazing - I've been using it since it first came out to the public. I work in I.T. and all the time, people bring me disks of software they want installed. I've began making backups of their software because sometimes it damaged or lost. Right now, I've got a relatively large stack of software on my desk that I need to create ISOs for, and naming the files correctly has become cumbersome. For example, when I put in one disk - imgburn will auto name the destination file for me according to what the disk is named, but when the disk is generically named and you have dozens of similar disks... this is not good. Additionally, if I'm holding the disk in my hands and type in the name I want the destination file to have (so I know what it is clearly), when I insert the disk into my computer, the name I typed in is overridden by imgburn... :-( This means I have to often times type in long and complex names of software from memory or from a note after I've put the disk into the computer. It would be so much more simple if the name that I type in before the disk is inserted STAYS there instead of being overridden!
