I/O Error problem when verifying

I have been having good luck burning with IMGBurn until just reently. I had burned about 8 DVDs of the same ISO file and then I started getting the same error on the "verifying" segment at the 99% level on each dvd and would not proceed if I clicked retry or continue. I have a Sony computer with a Pioneer DVD-RW 1.10 drive and was using Sony DVD+R discs. It was going great until just the last few discs and I need to run about 40 more discs for show choir. Any ideas what is causing this? It had gone thru the whole process except the final verification.I/O error for verifying
