Error Verifying DVD+R DL disc after write!

I am not at home so i cant post my log but i get the error when verify disk after write. the error is Logical unit times out. Can anyone help me with this. im using the samsung sh-s182m with the most current firmare in an external enclosure connect by usb to my laptop. btw i am burning my xbox 360 back ups.

Where are your Verbatim blanks made? It's printed on the box/spindle/etc. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive.

i cant find where they were made on spincle or the cover sheet any way else to fing out? ill try cleaning lens tonite.

 

only thing i see is an rm#171217?

Ok, ill do that tonite... but yea i kinda see why it looks odd.. when its verifying layer 0 is should be 1,913,760 and not 2086911, rite? im very new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.

Any chance of you pulling the drive out of the USB enclosure and and plugging it straight into the motherboard via the IDE/SATA cable type thingy? We see alot of problems here relating to external enclosures and the crappy chipsets that run them.

At least that one got the correct layer break address during the Verify stage.

 

As the drive is unable to read the disc I can only assume that it's made a duff burn - that or the reading ability of the drive has taken a serious nose dive.

 

Have you tried cleaning the drive at all? If not, that might be an idea.

i have a laptop so thats why the use of usb, i have a different enclosure i could try. ill try that tonite. thanks
