dbminter Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Is there a way to hide updates in Windows Updates for Vista? I have a typical Microsoft fucker error that after installing the update, Windows Update wants to list it again as an update I need. And, any attempt to download the update again returns a typical Microsoft fucker error, this time the error is just the classic unknown error. Thanks!
Cynthia Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 It's possible to hide them. I have a lot of language pack hidden. Can't just remember how you do it. Perhaps right click on the row for the update item?
cornholio7 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 yep, right click the item you don't want and choose hide
Cynthia Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 It's possible to get free help from Microsoft even if you don't have a paid support subscription as long as the issue is with The Microsoft Windows Update program. https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527
dbminter Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 yep, right click the item you don't want and choose hide Thanks! I didn't think to try right clicking on them. I never even thought about it.
dbminter Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Turns out it doesn't do much good. Microsoft just re-enables the download periodically.
Cynthia Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 If it's re enabled for the languages - it's because they shipped new ones for SP2.
