DL Burnproblems

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find out if my burner, media or .iso is bad. I cannot trace the error's because they appear without reason.

Sometimes I can write a DL-Disc without a problem, the next time I got an error.

Here's my log, i use a LG GH22 burner (but already tried it with a Lite-on and NEC also) and I use Verbatim DL+R.

In this case I'm trying to burn a xbox360 game.

I 12:16:59 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!

I 12:16:59 Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

I 12:16:59 Total Physical Memory: 2.095.180 KB - Available: 896.212 KB

I 12:16:59 Initialising SPTI...

I 12:16:59 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 12:16:59 Found 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD-ROM/CD-RW, 1 DVD

2.4x is not a valid speed on that drive.

The media you're using is rated for 8x, so try burning at that speed... your drive might do a better job.

Tried to burn a DVD9 movie at 4x speed with NERO, got this (don't want to lose any more DVD DL's):

Even though this isn't a Ner0 forum, it confirms that the problem isn't with ImgBurn ;)

Try burning (with ImgBurn this time :P ) at 6x or 8x to see if it works. Anyway, you'd have better chances with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks (MKM-001-00 dye)

Ok, at 6x speed the DVD DL 's burn fine.. (although they won't work at my xbox360).. so you suspect I use the wrong DVD+R DL?

Tnx anyway for answering (although it was a Ner0 question, i was simply filtering things..).

The Verbatim 2.4x blanks have been around longer than the 8x ones and they're better supported by burners. Seeing as x360 drives are quite picky about the media I guess you should try with a few Verbatim 2.4x blanks to see how it turns out

Still waiting for 2.4x DVD+R DL's to be delivered, I was simply trying to burn at 6x speed again..

Now to my surprise it went wrong at 6x also!
