Kortez Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) Hey, I'm new to the site as well and with the imgburn program. I used it for the past few days to burn a few dvd+r's and those burned ok, but when I changed to dvd-r's things didn't go so well. I just received an error and a few messed up disks. Cynthia Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, Kortez! Try the UDS2 firmware here. It might give you better burn results. If not - try another brand of media. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/DW-Q58A/files.html Also check in the FAQ forum to see if DMA is enabled. The write rates are very low.
Kortez Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the quick response, I'll try both your suggestions. ^^ thanks for the welcome too. After updating the firmware, I tried again, but still got the same results. I'm going to look into what media I goes well with this drive and get some tomorrow. Thanks again for the help Cynthia.
